That was on telly today. Possibly the funniest episode I've seen since the early ones.

You can be skin tested for most allergies - its pretty obvious which things you are allergic to on these types of tests since the allergic patch swells and reddens within a minute or so - the degree of swelling/reddening indicates the strength of the allergy.

Well I still have this bottle of stuff...should I put some on the back of my hand and see what happens? I'm assuming that soaking it through the skin won't be enough to send me back into full shock though! :(

I'm a platelet donor, and one time when i was at the clinic I suddenly had a severe reaction, face coming up in lumps, asthma, sneezing etc.

It puzzled everyone and my doctor referred me to be allergy tested.

For three days I wore a patch full of little metal studs on my back, each containing a known allergen, to see whether any of them would cause a reaction.

The culprit turned out to be latex from the rubber tubing used on the blood pressure apparatus.

You shouldnt have any trouble with getting referred to an allergy clinic by your doctor.

Good luck with it :)
