Advice me a racing game for the PC

Hey guys... Can ye lot advice me a good fun racing game where you drive thru existing cities, a bit like midtown madness 2 on the xbox does in Washington and Paris?
I'm not really at home in racing games and was hoping I could get some tips here

I usually don't care much for racing games on circuits by the way... surroundings are much too boring. I prefer those that aren't that serious but just nice racing

[edit] ohw, just to be clear, it's for the PC. I don't own a game console. Played Midtown madness on a friends' and thought it was cool

Trackmania Nations.

Its just a download and you can play it online with rank systems etc. its really fun, custom cars and all this bother.

google it and download, its really fun to play, you need to practice coz the tracks are hard depending on who made them =] but there's loops, jumps and all sorts in it.

Best racing games imo As much as I hate the EA corporate machine.

The have a new game out November too. NFS Carbon

Underground 2 + Most wanted are the best of the nfs series, Carbon should proove even better as its a much faster paced game.

Need for Speed has always been one of the best racing games ever. Arcade game that is. Gran Turismo beats the shit out of it when it comes to realism.

Anyway.. NFSU:2 and Most Wanted is the way to go.
Only Porsche "Crap Game" Challenge was the only one that wasn't that good.

From a LAN Party pov, Insane Racing... costs about £5 but well worth it
Great game for single player

porsche unleashed is the best nfs tbh, car damage + more realistic driving + rather cool story mode + ricing your car isnt 80% of the game

I don't know about realism but it plays well on the lan and isn't limited to 4 players like the newer games seem to be IIRC. So Carmageddon is deffo an option

oi, I've just played the demo twice.
better gfx........... and that's all really. You're still driving at night, still doing most of the same things etc. I wouldn't bother with it.
