Been told its an almost 2 hour long Clique about young black people.

My brother was watching it at home, it looks like a bunch of chavvy ***** who should not be allowed to live, let alone star in a film. All this "Yeah bruv" shit.

Stop being close minded, its supposed to show a way of life these kids go through. The way they talk is only part of it.

Well kidulthood was anyway.

It shows how they get caught into more serious crimes and get discriminated on (the kid trying to get a cab) and follow the cycle of "hey everyone shits on us so fuck em" like the way they get picked on when they go into the shop to look at hats

If I want to see that I will watch something like La Haine. I simply cannot stand people like in Adulthood, so no way am I watching a film about them.

Stop being so close mind in your views upon me.

Its just the youts in London speaking normal. It's about growing up as a youth on a chav estate(s).

Kidulthood was a great great film. Both written and directed by the same guy but Adulthood was an utter fail.

Yeah I know what you're trying to say Laddey, however it's the context of the film...if that's the correct word.

When I watched (all of 10 minutes of this film), I simply was put off because I see people like that sometimes when I go out. Those people I do not like due to how they act.

When I saw La Haine it was a similar film, however it was more artistic imo.
The other thing with La Haine (and this is assumption when comparing) is that they both probably covered the same topics with regards to growing up in a rough area. With La Haine they spoke normally, however this could be because of the subtitles. (film is in french).

In Adulthood you have what I can only describe as Attitude. All this "Yeah Bruv" and "lets pretend to be super bad ass to intimidate or look big infront of our friends". I only watched 10 minutes so I may be way off, but I dont care because I wont be watching that film.
When I see people who act like in that film, I think the real life equivelants are a waste of potential. That is why I dont want to watch this particular film.

Interesting though, how after the second world war really, the US and UK have changed:

UK went from "Ah hello there, have a cup of tea hmm? Jolly splendid tataa." to "Ey com 'ere av got somethin' fer you to chew on!!!"

US went from "I do say dear, we better get jim, john and sue to school before i head out to my job at the nuclear power plant. Better pack an umbrella too, looks like it might rain." to "You want fries with that?"

Yeah, English is a very poetic, and beautiful language... as a European, you just wouldn't understand its majesty.
But don't worry, once your descendants have it as their primary language, all will be right in the world.

Doesn't interest me
I live in London
If I wanna watch people shooting each other, smoking crack, knifing people, carjacking, and burglarising, I just look out my back window
