ADSL router, google page rank missing

I just installed a router so my flatmate can go online etc; the only thing is that I can't get Google page rank to display on the Google toolbar, only on my computer. Mine is connected via the usb port, my flatmate's is connected through his network card and his Google toolbar works fine.... has anyone else had this happen, does anyone know how to fix it?
