k here we go, just been kicked from BW1 by zaPpeh, part of the admin (aka CS-B, crew, no offence ch3t et al, but u kno my thoughts on it ch3t) team, i WAS spamming trying to get that very very poor map voted off (oilrig) , trying to get dust voted. no-one complained about me spamming, then i got one complaint, from ZaPpeh. so i stop spamming the same thing again and again. so i start stating reasons why i would like dust as a aposed to oilrig, trying to convince my cs comrades about dust's qualities and oilrigs lesser points. ie. it being v poo in general. i was stopped from this 'free speach' by being kicked by zaPpeh, NICE

also, trying to get a shite map like dust voted while everyone is enjoying a fine game of oilrig is a crime!

oilrig is a great map if the teams are balanced(that's to say the CTs are skilled in the secrete art of Team Play ).
Oilrig is perhaps better than tundra in terms of balance, due to the fact that the Ts have more than 2 routes to guard.

tundra aint that bad imo, oilrig just plain sux, and the auto team is a joke, it put it to 9 cts vs 4 ts, might have been ok ISH but bear in mind this moved anyone from the terrorist side with a kill to the CT team, so u get the 9 top ppl on server playing 4 Ts all with scores of 0 for 5, no fun

actually, i find oilrig very balanced.

there are 3 main areas to snipe from on the surface, and several places to snipe from in the oilrig itself...

why do i snipe? because it's an assassination map. the reason why it appears unbalanced is because very few people understand the concept of Team Play, hence the Ts dont realise they can win by killing the VIP, rather than killing the whol,e CT team to get large score.

Oil rig is indeed a good map, mainly for the good old rushes i can pull as a ct, walking over any p-ssant 't' campers along the way, Never score lower than 40 on that map

But another thing..

I wish map votes were disabled perm from public rotation servers, there's nothing worse than getting teleported to dust every other hour, as happens a fair bit.

Tis a fact, people vote like muppets on public servers, allways have and allways will, whatever the game

True, for the 4 months i played quake 3, i got kicked about 5 times.

3 were because of my ping.
2 were because i was too good for the rest of um

the thing with votes about kicking someone, is that the average person thinks like this:
'hhmm, he's being voted off, i better vote yes, dont want him on the server'. well, the thing is, if everyone assumes there's a vote about it for a reason, then someone could be voted off, all because one person didn't like them...

yes, read my posts, they're clearly show i like oilrig.

i like it slightly better than tundra as it's more balanced *and because the Ts have access to the scout*.

most people dislike AS maps because they involve team play.
when i snipe as T, i pick my spot so there's the smallest possable chance any Ct will see me. if this means not shooting at anyone other than the VIP, then so be it.

of course there are certain maps/situations where you have to shoot everyone so you can get the best view of all possable routes.

T2 is the biggest example of voting just for the hell of it......it seems easier to vote people off than it is for a map change

all voting should be banned and replaced with a way of signaling for a admin if enough people agree there's a cheat on the server.

As for oilrig verses dust. Anyone who likes dust is a shite and boring player who should stick to simpler games that involve no tactics. No really I'm sick of playing counter stike's worst map (dust) coz every crap newbie shit votes for it.
Oilrig rocks, apart from the bad respawn locations, but even this can add to the fun of the game. Its got loads of levels and several entrance and exit points for snipers to picks off the VIP.

i was talking more about map changes on q3.some servers just play like a couple of maps OVER AND OVER again whcih drives me bloody mad.u callvote for new map and no one even presses no,let alone yes.did my head in playing that bloody map with the bfg on it again and again.
thats one of the things i like about cs,the variety of maps,and why i avoid dust servers!

Its fine to want to play another map, you are welcome to vote.

However spamming, and then arguing why dust is better is pointless.

If you were the only one on the server who didnt want to play oilrig you should have left simple.

On the tribes vote thing, depending on what mood i was in realy, if bad it was a yes, if i was feeling happy, then a no came up

Unless there was a complete tosser, then i would just vote yes anyway

btw your suggestion about the call vote for an admin would be nice, but not to kick a 'cheat' as imho (well u know anyway) nuff said, 100% can u be sure=no

But it sure would be welcome on a server like the 'hunted' server, it only ever takes 1 person on that server to piss the other 15 players on there off completely

because some of us use team play

it only takes 3 people thinking the right way to own the map.
for instance on oilrig:
1 sniper in tower, one guy on far roof(the one that's hard to jump to), and a 3rd guy on the ground. as long as they cover each other, it's almost impossable to to get past them (without numerical advantage of 3-1), because while they aim at the guy on the floor, there's a sniper read to pick them off, and on the other side the guy on the roof can appear and get em.

also, if you have a good sniper, but your losing because he's dying, you have him and a 2nd guy in tower. 2nd guy camps the top of the ladder, HSing anyone who tries to get up, sniper can then concentrate on sniping and not being shot.

Fatality flawed tactics, all it takes is a person with better faster aim with an m4 to pop out the top and waste mr i only ever play as a t on this map sniper in the tower

Been there done it, many many times. In general by the time you reach the top to do this, the rest of your team has made it up, and point and clicker is busy elsewhere, giving you a free shot anyway

i did say 'very good sniper'

it only takes a bit of awareness to not get killed, plus, by ducking you take yourself out of the line of fire instantly.
and if you stay at the backpf th tower, you can only be shot at from 2, maybe 3 places, so its easy to concentrate on helicopter.
