Using Macros is against the DAoC CoC..

I may not be correct but the stance against macros is an odd one.

I spoke to a GM about it on WoW re: whether I could use my command pad to create macros which would cast certain spells and abilities. His stance was that you could aslong as you were active on the character and engaging in the normal stuff such as moving around and so on. Basically, if you are active at the comp, using a command pad to do spell orders and so on, it was accepted.

Ofcourse - I don't know the situation for DAoC but it's best to bare this in mind.
