Help required chaps. It seems the office cleaner accidentally knocked some plugs the other day which has trashed one of the AC Adapters we had.

Basically it's way cheaper to replace the AC Adapter than the piece of kit it's connected to and the manufacturers don't do the AC Adapters individually (because they smell).

Not great at this stuff so would appreciate any help you guys can give me on acquiring a suitable replacement. I've attached a picture of the label on the dead adapter.

Cheers!

Its an OEM part from a chinese manufacturer called Deer Group. It might be really hard to source that part outside of the OEM supply chain without relying on the manufacturer of the item itself.

Did you not attempt to do the warranty call with a "blown" power supply? most of the companies will happily replace one thats went "pop" and taken out a surge protector at the same time :)

Other than that, you might be able to pick up one of those variable AC/DC adapters from Maplins to do a similar job. all depends if you get the right fitting on the end.

Thanks Insane. The item is well out of warranty so that's a non-starter unfortunately. Sounds like the variable AC/DC is the way forward but I have to admit I'm still not up to speed on what I would need. Any suggestions? I've found these on Maplins but have no idea if they are suitable.

Dont get a variable one. If the bit of kit is expensive, then buy an exact functional replacement. Maplins have got tonnes of power supplies. The salient points are: 25w, 10-13.5v, 2.5A output.

On this subject. Switched from BT to Demon when I moved and they gave me this retarded piece of junk router. So I advertised on my local Freecycle for a wireless router. Long story short someone told me they had one. Didn't tell me until I'd gone to pick it up that it didn't have a power supply. The one from my old HomeHub works but it's 3v short of the needed and I'm convinced it's slowing my internet down.

Anyone recommend a good power supply for a Westell Versalink Gateway? Tried getting one from the manufacturer but they don't make them anymore apparently and can't get them separately. All I know for sure is it takes a 12v DC adapter.

rofl. -3v wont slow it down. if it does anything, it will totally fuck it and destroy components.
