Well...

Agreed, Novamir. Was there this morning and had a very one-sided battle with you, I'm afraid my melee skills are nowhere near a Hero's. :) However, I did mezz you at the end with the intention of resting up before I continued, but the outcome would not have been any different even if I had rejoined combat.

Anyway, had some nice duels and managed not to kill anyone... Was a bit unfair at the end when I battled the level 50 thane (Solarias?) and realized at the end that the paladin heal chant was on. Sorry about that. :(

We had a coupple for nice duells nova :] I even let u kill me afterwards so u could see I wasnt buffed :] (even tho it took u awhile :p)

I was there too and i agree with no buffs thing. I kept my own buffs :p but as soon as i arrived cancelled the druid and warden's buffs that had been cast on me for my grp. I can't say i managed not to kill anyone, accidentaly one bolted a theurg (nothin i can do to stop that :( ) and my dam bar got bugged when i was fightin an armsman i think it was and i thought he still had 1/2 hp but i cast one more dd and he died :eek: sorry bout that.
Anyways, i died twice too through no fault of my opponents similarly was one bolted by a fire wiz who critted i think and got killed by an infis opening chain (didn't duel a 50 infi again after that :p )
Was good sportsmanship and duels all round for the most part. Except for nobrains who shot me when i was sitting watching one duel (revenge for amg earlier?) and runsy who seemed to enjoy mezzing me every so often.
And one more point, u need to learn when i'm backing off to stop killing u. Don't then run up to me a few secs after i cancel my last dd and start twattin me and act like u won, it's not nice. :(

At duels in Gorre a cleric friend came and said to me "lets go to the trees and i buff u". Why? I tested my char and discovered that im not a gimped one, and i had really nice fights.

Dueling buffed against non-buffed oponents only means that you are a great great great chicken....

/respect for all the non buffed duelers

Yep nice fights here, some might have been buffed but most of those I fought were not.

Sorry for those I killed by mistake, but I have a laggy connection these days and swinging a 5.3 weapon there is quite some latency before u stop. Besides I'd rather die than stop a fight when there it's still real close :). Finally when mages try and cast a last spell my interrupt is also a DD, so it has to hurt a bit.

And Sabbu u were right, don't follow clergymen who propose you to go to the trees so they can "buff" you, It sounds dodgy at best.

had sum v.nice duels, specially at the begining, thx all :D

... others sucked big time... each time a cleric relogged ld or whatever u could see that huge list of buffs fading from everytank... or the therughist buffing their tanks all the time... sad thing.
Dueled for LONG and only killed by accident 1 armsman (Gado) to find hes 5buffs droping pfffft. And there were sum mids buffed too :(

Overall, had some interesting fights, never lost to a yellow, won duels vs orange cons 50%.

GG to Mouse, Reya, Muertee (suicidal armsman, I tell ya), Shivaw, All, Znipa (a bit lame...), Pimpdaddy (I know, I know, just testing :) ), Remus (sorry, following style went in before I could retreat, 79 rps if you need to know).

if you want to fight an honorable duel then go to EQ or some other lame game:p This is total war, not an arena=) and everything is allowed in war:p

so so so novamir my cute little moose man, i tryed both with and w/o buffs, vs with buffs and lost.. :)

started off without buffs then saw all albs where buffed so i got edeas little shaman and buffed myself... had some good duels. and thx "All" for not running to ATK like last day at amg :) i killed some uber pets then casters started to kill me for no reason, got rezzed, 1 shot the caster, waited 20 min got killed and rezzed and killed, but the chicken shit had ether ran to tk or logged so i desided to call it a day.,,

was fun alltho without buffs i'm noting in a duel :) but u never see me again in emain unbuffed ether :)

I agree, the reason for duelling is to test how you fare against different classes, and with buffs you get the wrong impression.

Well, second, dont you think its a bit lame if someone from the other realm actually agrees to go to a duel and then refuse to do it fairly?

That sounds pretty lame to me anyways.

Outsiders coming and killing everyone i can stand, because they arent doing anything wrong. Someone who came for "duels" and then fight 2v1 fights is... well, lame to say the least.

Edit: I wasnt actually in the duels, but i can perfectly understand the frustration that something like this causes.

Lessurl your a caster and u actually had fun at a duel event? :)

Caster duels aren't much fun imo, especially vs hibs; fast cast stun vs wizz, then nuke them to death, fast cast nearsight vs sorc or air theurg then stun then nuke, vs cabalist its 50/50 cus both have nearsight.

Duelling is for tanks really, and maybe rogue classes (if they dont PA)
Caster is way more fun in general rvr but generally whoever casts first wins in duels :( and eldritch is unbeatable by most classes, except maybe assasins :)

P.s. I wanna get my cabalist to lvl 50 and buy the uninteruptable for 15 sec RA, then own any assasin or sniper who dares attack me with non-stop 90% lifedrain nukes :) sounds like too much fun.

P.s.s madelaine if ur reading, we gotta duel u vs Raistlin sometime, a skald should be np at all once ur rooted and im giving u a pet bomb :) just a matter of getting u rooted and getting out of nasty dd range.

well if someone is stupid enough to chalenge for a duel and then gets ganked because theo ther was buffed then thats his problem not everyone elses=)

duel= against CoC so flaming people for breaking a duel is like telling a terrorist that what he is doing is wrong. Probably makes you feel bether for a sec but dont help anything.

And for the lamer / whiners saying duels is rp-farming, it shows they have no idea what rp farming is :) Get a good group with a bard (mids replace by "with a healer") and there is NO WAY you could even get close to the rp flow even with non stop dueling / 100% winning and killing opponents, which all know as not being the case, far from it.

PS : Arnor u frigging hurt, and u parry too much for an honest Troll, got something to do with my crappy slash resist too, must get a ring or two soon.

Damn, I missed a dueling session ? :(

Personally I love the one-on-one battles in RvR the most, would love to try some proper duelling for a change, though I imagine getting someone low and not killing them is a fine art, specially with quicker weapons, hitting F6 in time.

As for the buffs thing, maybe alot of the albs were buffed, but please don't generalise us so much, some of us do still enjoy a fair and noble battle.

Might be worth posting a list of the 'generally accepted' guidlines and customs for dueling in RvR.


As for the whiners hiding behind the CoC again, a) can't you win a one-on-one fight ? b) get a life.

Read my reply in the other thread, its not against the code of conduct, they dont like it, but they dont take any action whatsoever against you.

And i still stand by my opinion that if someone agrees to do something, and then cant do it fairly, they are lameass sad gits :p

Oh and another thing, how do caster vs noncaster duels work nowadays? Since as a caster i have a very unfair(or.. unfortunate?) advantage of having all immunity timers etc down when any duel is being fought which means all i really have to do to win is have my quickcast mez not being resisted(or purged) ;/

well that was a kinda early post after 24 hours awake and hangover kicking in.....but i can see why i was so mad :rolleyes:

Kagato (regent) i never seen anyone evade 5 slam in a row before.... you fecker :p and ninjastyle and hysteric owned me too, i think slam really should get a to-hit bonus, its just pointless vs assassins (unless you are chasing them).

had some good duels with Mikhael we always seem to :D and that new polearm stun style is nassssty so i try to use moving tactics to fuck that style up ;)
