Along a similar line as PBAoE, GTAoE is Groud Target Area of Effect - fairly obvious - you target a ground spot and your area of effect spell will centre at that spot for a radius of 350 (think that's highest/only radius for AoE spells might be wrong, never played a caster).

Also DoT - Damage over Time. Also a new one that confused me until I worked it out, HoT - Heal over Time.

SoS - realm ability Speed of Sound (minstrel)
BoF - realm ability Bunker of Faith (cleric)
FH - realm ability Faith Heal (paladin)

And you will get the various keeps shortened or put to initials, although these are personal and can be confusing, like someone else said, does DC equal Dun Crim or Dun Crauch ;)

Oh and to quote an obvious one DF = Darkness Falls ;)
HoC = Halls of the Corrupt, another rvr dungeon in the frontiers, although I haven't heard this used so much.

CG - Caer Gothwaite, also known as Caer Goth ;)

I've probably missed loads, and might be wrong on some, please others feel free to correct!

Never heard that in DAoC. Sounds like something from Anarchy Online.

Also, if BAF means Bring a Friend when a mob brigs a friend, it would be Brang a Friend, unless you're telling your teammate to bring a friend.

Yes, I'm being political correct. For the fun of it. I'm not funny, am I.
:help:

Isn't nerfed meant for toning down?

Well, in my days of Diablo 2, "Nerfing" a skill or class meant that the developers of the game decided that the skill/class was too powerful, or unfair and weakened the damage inflicted/duration of skill/weakened it in some way.

Diablo 2 example: Sorceress' spell firewall at level 20 would last for 8 seconds and deal 1600 damage per second. This was then nerfed to 8 seconds of firewall, dealing 1200 damage per second.

I like RTFM.

I liked it especially when I first entered the world of DAOC and asked a question to someone. Their reply was "RTFM".

It took me two weeks to find out what that meant,

"Read the F@cking Manual".

Nice people abouts aint there?

us roleplayers also use ooc

usually with [ ]
so
[ooc] = Out of character

Or just "ooc:" :p

Instead of "<emote>" you can use "*emote*", too.

Yes i like to use *this* method when doing something, the /em isn't too good in DAoC since you can't add text to it, as an example:

*Dances around* I'm a gimped archer and i'm here to say, that i'm still the greatest one alive today!

That works better then.

Teh Seel dances around. I'm a gimped archer etcetc...

I rarely use <ooc> either, simply using OOC: is faster.

Thought it can be odd sometimes to say:

OOC:OOC

If i played a buff class that is.

Anyhoop.

Or Caer Sursbrooke...

I think Mythic just made all these abbreviations of CS to deliberately confuse albs, and come on.. It's not exactly hard to confuse you average alb :)

its 4 teh win and not 4 the win ;)

just means that you should do that for the victory, like 'spec 50/50/28 for teh win!' or 'friar + paladin for teh win!' or something similar...
