Best thing i've heard in months, this is really something we should try to really do, i know my guild is up for it (pro patria).

One big problem when it comes to a single realm alliance. Space, there are only so many slots in an alliance (i'm told) and thus with all the guilds around (who the hell are the Imperial Dwarf Army, they seem to have sprung up ove r night 
) its difficult to organise such a large venture.
There are ways you could accomodate the space issue, I.e. guilds merge with one another. my old guild did this (The Dark Alliance) did this a while ago with Tiwaz, but sadly the whole thing seemed to fall through and the majority of TDA folk reformed the old guild and carried on with business as usual. Only a few of us stayed (Mainly because i'd forgotten how to use the /gc leave command, and by the time i remembered i'd gone and started to enjoy the fact that most of them where my drooling little biatches).
Also as i think you said, not everyone gets on with everyone else. thats people for you, it also applys to leaders. Some people will simply not accnolage other people as leaders and do everything they can to bugger up their plans (mentioning no names).
The single realm alliance ideal is a glorieous one, but the only way it is acheivable is for guilds to throw away their identity. (Could you see Nolby Edge? Or Cutting Pride?) is a reality that i dearly wish will never happen, Mythic really needs to sort it so alliances have an unlimited/much higher guild allowence.
We also need all the wanna-be leaders to throw down their claim to the thrown and personal bids for fame and glory in order for the greater good of the realm.
And inspired ideal, but an impossible dream. Sadly sums up the single realm alliance and i weep because of it

As an Officer within the Imperial Dwarven Army i'd like to say that I am glad that we have already been noticed. You just need to look down at the floor more often and you'll spot us
I'm sure that many of you have spotted us on our Sunday / Wednesday nights Naked RvR Runs, now thats fun for all the bearded family.
The Alliance sounds good and I hope that the IDA will become a valued member of the New Alliance (this is my personal view). I look forward to fighting alongside you all...
