* If the user creates a multiplayer server in DirectPlay mode and the TCP/IP protocol is not fully supported or is not working properly (e.g., it's disabled under Windows Network settings or there's a firewall disabling TCP/IP).
DirectPlay mode is the poor mans netcode, the only reason you'd use it is for the built-in VoIP, and how many people have TCP/IP disabled? I'll sleep at night, though it is a bit of a bug. Despite 1.91 being the final patch, they have a beta 1.92 out for this problem and to improve memory management for mods.
