Ok in your rvr world ,using Mid as an example, no mids stay at Bled but all travel by boat/port to Alb or Hib.Who you travelling to Mid to fight against then? Just Albs?Mids are going to say beno but no Albs will be there and same with no Hibs at DC.Hey maybe we can all wave to eachother as we pass in our boats.

I agree. This is why I hate NF. NF is based on the presumption that players will raid keeps/towers non-stop, but most often players are just looking for other players to fight (without involving keeps/towers) and NF was clearly not built for this aspect of the game.

My suggestion is to add a little "home invasion" to the frontiers. Uppland, Sauvage, and Gorge should be the hearts of each frontier. These zones should be populated with home-realm players, and should be THE destination for any invader who wants to taunt an enemy realm, be it a solo player or a battlegroup.

One way to do this is to revamp the way realm missions work. First of all, realm missions should start out in the frontier (thus requiring players to expose themselves). Secondly, realm missions should not involve npc fighting, but should be designed to give enemy players the chance of fighting back (ie warning symbols on warmap or similar). These missions could be anything, but the point is to make Uppland/Sauvage/Gorge obvious destinations.

/sigh.

1st of all reread thread title and try not to resort to insults.

secondly you said i your original post that those who 'doorstep' don`t contribute anything and therefore should be penalised in someway eg less rps.

My point is they contribute by being the enemy your travelling to fight and if you penalise people for wanting to fight in their own realm then ofc they`ll all leave and you`ll have noone except albs to fight.

Maybe im missunderstanding you ofc.

dont penalise doorstepping. Just promote hunting abroad.

Even the doorsteppers will eventually comprehend the maths and start asking in /as where the dockmaster is.

I think Mythic thought of this, but in the end decided Daoc wasn't built for this type of action, Tho I personally think its great, they have said Warhammer will be built on a home invasion type basis.

I guess Mythic have been listening all these years it just isn't our game thats going to benefit.

I honestly wish they would introduce RVR instances so I wouldn't have to come to FH and see such whine about 1 v 1 and 8 v 8 shit, but lets face it the 1 v 1 guys would be ok, always someone around but I wouldn't fancy your chances with an 8v8 instance for a start the albs would be in a que for weeks on end (guessing :D) and the mids/hibs would be arguing over who is more leet to be at the front of there respective ques.

Anyway remember its a game, and if some of you are getting upset as you seem to be maybe its time to 'move away from the computer'

instanced rvr worst idea ever thought of

i think i agree... although I always wanted a good place too fight 1 on 1... i think instances would take away all spontinuity(sp!) in the game... But givving a place like DF a boost would be great i think, maybe make the stuff u can buy from df better more like auralite qual etc..

lol Puppet, that sounds awesome tbh.

Just face it though, there will always be idiots who cant find anything outside a bridge or a keep, is just how it is. Benobridges+keep is the new APK from old Emain. Difference now is that hibs also have a place to camp and toodle around in.

Cant really increase RPs gained from hunting in another realm, would just inflate RPrewards even more thus increase addings a tad more, which already is at silly levels. If anything, decrease RPs from camping towers and bridges.

If people want to camp towers/bridges they can, it doesn't mean they're "idiots". It's pretty satisfying warding off large numbers of the enemy zerg, not that I've camped in a long while.

In my book, roaming alittle area of 1500x1500 is idiotic, and i stand for that opinion. There arent much zergs moving around unless its iRVR going on at all, since the zerg is stuck at that liddul area of 1500x1500.. which.. well.. is idiotic since they aint gonna get a decent fight there nomatter what. Zergs can move around, its not that hard to press forward or buy a boatticket to go fight other zergs. Hard to lead a zerg of bridgecampers though I guess hehe..

As you say, yea sure, they can camp and no it doesnt say in CoC they cant do it and yes they pay to play the way they want and yes they are in their fullest right to camp all day long for a year if they like, but they are still idiots for doing so. Get going with guildRVR, not just FGrvr but guildRVR as in up to as many FGs as you like with guildies. Go take keeps, relics, kill other bridgecampers, whatever, just do _something_ at least instead of just roaming an area of 1500x1500 in hopes of someone crazy enough to jump a zerg near a bridge where pretty much anything less than a zerg will get blown up to pieces.

I cant honestly feel any sympathy or respect or anything less than despise for guys like the scouts that permcamp the roof on benobridge etc, its just completely silly and ultimately its quite sad, those muppets have no idea what they actually are missing, DAoC's RVR can be so incredibly much more than just camping a spot hoping for fights to occur so you have something to add on. Someone having an scoutalt and do it, ok den, it could be ok I guess, but the ones doing it day in and day out. heloo? Any brain up there at all? :eek7:

disclaimer: I only used the infamous scouts as an example really, there are plenty of other muppets too, playing different classes ofc.

well its not really the farmgroups im pointing finger at, its the randoms that just cluelessly runs around in very same area all the time, look around Eggy, at the bridges etc, preferrably with a stealther just so u can watch em for a while, and you should see it :) Brynja defenders is a disease that spread to alb and also hibb, which is kinda sad :/

Yeah! Like the circle thing in the borderkeeps like Druim Ligen. Its a great idea, you buy some ticket (perhaps a necklace or so) and sit on the pad, and then let that current teleporter cast a spell on everyone on the pad like once every 10 mins.. and then you get teleported to foreign country. OMFG !

In that foreign country you could have some sort of safe-haven, with loads of uber guards, where you can put buffbots and such.

OMFG, I can already imagine it in detail, brilliant idea ! Too bad Mythic will never think of it :<

This made me laughs o much... pmsl...god i cant stop laughing its great
