Hm, feels like you are gimping yourself even more.

I will give you a advice, for what its worth;

critblades SUCK ASS.

Just plain and simpe, never spec cb.

I am, Sword 35, Laxe 39, CS 39, Env 32, Stea 32, and its ok, I kill everything except some heavy ones, at least as long as we have the relics. But I must say; my weaponskill is a bit low, people evade/block/parry more than they should.

I will try another one soon; Sword 50, Laxe 40+, cs 10, Env 31, Stea 31, and we will see how it work out.

this is my thoughts on CB.

99.5% of your fights are with stealthers now you need really good reflexes to PA them while you are both stealthed because when you are coming towards each other you will only see each other for like 1 second and there out of sight.

PA missed now you can either go straight mele and get your ass handed to you on a plate or you can wait for another stealther to pass by again you probably will miss PA.

PA is really important for a CB and you wont get it on other infils, scouts sure probably but infils are your main worry.

was a CB for 7 months or so and i found it really hard to solo.

Salamurhaaja is now a CB he was a SZ before just ask him how gimped CB is he cant solo he has no stun unless PA or BS and he looses to infils even if he can get PA in.

my advise go SZ its still a great spec and i have no trouble taking down infils 1on1 if they dont DF but if purge is up still can win because i have frosty a great style with a nice stun and imo stuns>all.

spec at rr8 is

50 axe+18
45 la+18
32 stealth+18
30 envenom +18

When i tested on US 1on1 with infill/sb we used

rr6 sb, fully sc'd, with spec:
50a
44la
31env
31stealth
12cs

rr6 infill, fully sc'd, with spec:
50dw
50thrust
don't know exact rest of spec, but he had lifebane atleast ...

Mid had all 3 melee relic's

Used no positional CS styles (pa, bs, bs2)

When infill opened the odd's were 50/50
When sb opened the odd's were 75/25 in favour of sb
when sb got frosty off sb won every time (with purge up odd's were very random)
when infill got df off infill won every time (when purge was up odd's were very random)

No pot's or heal proc's were used ...

All tests were made in 1.62 so LA nerf is counted for

Can't garantee for this number's nor spec, as everything in DAoC (more or less) is % based and therefor random ... but we tested for several hour's (8~9) so should be in the area

sz is the way to go, ive only lost 4 fair 1vs1 since patch with infils, killed everything from gimped warders to rr8 mercfils
my spec atm is only 39sword, 44laxe but im gonna respec to 50axe, 43laxe for full ws

From reading the posts above it seems to me like: SZ > CB when battling other stealthers such as NS and Infils. CB > CB fighting all non stealth classes and archer classes.

Is this correct?


And as a SZ, how do you open the fights against non stealthers? Snowsquall followed by Icy Brilliance? Or is it worth speccing CB for the BS1 combo or BS2 combo even?

and when you open a fight against a non stealther as a SZ, do you change to 2 handed or stick with duelweild?

And to all CBs out there, do you ever get to PA infils? And if you dont, is death a certainity? Is it rare to get the PA in on the infils and does it go hand in hand with pure luck or is it simply a matter of skill?

u really need 39 la i think for the stun... its r only defence

any spec is good imo (CB or SZ) aslong as u have 50 weapon spec and last debuff.

afaik new "best" (read - most damaging) SB spec is:

enuf env to get 47 with items and RR
enuf stealth to get 50 with items and RR
2 CS (or 10 - if u prefer and have points)
then rise LA to 39
put rest into axe (not sword coz we'll get 16.5 4.2 delay axes in 1.64).
put rest into LA again.

for me being RR6 it equals to:
50 ax 41 LA 10 cs 34 stl 31 env.

proposed axe for left hand - Gazsi Bearded Axe, 16.2 dps and 2.4 delay.

I'm thinking of respec'ing to this:

45 Axe (+13)
39 LA (+13)
35 Env (+13)
34 Stealth (+13)
21 CS (+13)

This would mean I retain Frosty Gaze for the stun, but also gain the ability to PA. I realise I won't have the important follow up stun from CD, but I was thinking it would be useful to have PA as a front opener for a bit of extra damage over what opening with DF or Havoc will do.

But can I expect much PA damage from CS 21 + 13? Or would I be better off sticking with CS 11 for BS2 and pumping more points into Axe (but can't get axe to 50 with LA at 39 without a respec stone to drop envenom).

I do like playing my current SZ spec but also yearn for a bit more opening damage, so perhaps this spec can work? Anyone tried it?

I love this spec, PA + CD killing casters is excellent fun, and Tyr's is a very nice style too. I would love to see how SZ damage compares to Tyr's though......

On average against Leather I am hitting for 150ish with Havoc and 16 with Tyr's.

Well, i tried the 50axe, 17 La, rest 35 spec, useing Havoc/Tyr's fury. That was really gimped, u need higher LA then that. Currently Cracked's spec is 38Axe, 37 CS, 35LA, 35 Stealth, 35 Envenom and 15 from items+RR, this works good for me even though im only RR5L3 so far.

Useing Garotte/Achilles I can kill most most infils with this spec, only big problem is Sst and a few other high RR ones. Against all non stealthers (and some low stealth's) PA+CD is a really good thing and i dont whant to loose it so ill stay 34+ in CS.

When i ding RR6 ill respec and go 45Axe, 34CS, 34LA, 34 Stealth, 31 Envenom.

only thing that seriouslly fucks me ove is my low envenom, if i had 2.5 points per level then i cud have 35 but i dont , so i live with it, when i land pa with a 4.9spd 2h i hit for aroudnd 950 , most infils (this is all buffed) 700/800 _WHEN_ i land it, 9 times out of 10 i open with garrote / AH and spam it with hamstrng backup

my weapskill is kinda insane with my 3tg weaps, i get 1470 with a 2h 4.9 spd sword so....

overall im pretty proud of this spec, wish env was higher, tryin to think how i can use my respec so it wont effect using left axe in melee, but increases envenom so i get +15 for a debuff.

I second that, Jox doesnt have a fucking clue what he's on about, cb's are one of the best classes to play if u know how to use one.

my sb can 2 hit zerkers of equal level, beat other assassins in 1 -2 hits, its all about the PA, PA anything that isnt a main tank and u got very high odds of winning.
