A question about the Minstrels SoS.

Yodel folks.

Bored out of my mind and nothing to do at work, I started to think about the Minstrels SoS RA. If activated, and a mezz lands on the group, is it possible for the minc or Sorc to cast cure mezz spells before the SoS is out and nullify the mezz afterwards?

no :\, lets say you use SoS at mmg, you pop out on the otherside and get a mezz - you can basicly just run around with the mezz on you and do nothing else but seek cover if you will.

Its mostly used to get away from np/la/vgn/rg and so forth so forth :] and to run into battle to avoid being ae mezzed.

It also makes it almost impossible tell who exactly is mezzed and who isn't so mids/hibs often handily break your mez as long as you zip around like mad ;)

It's excellent for keeping out of hibs pboae and running away from mid-melee grps. The only use really. Not that good vs bolt-casters tho or archers.

+ u can move b4 purging^^

its great to use offensively means noone can run from your tanks and means your support can run well out of range when they get hit.

Guess you missed to read my post Pilip. ;) But good info about purge being bugged if used during the SoS.

Athis, you did mention something interesting. From what you just mentioned I take it that any meele/DD's during the SoS are also in one blow breaking any successfully enemy mezz that would be activated afterwards. :)

But about it being a bug to be able to preemptive nullify a mezz during SoS, is it really a bug? Sounds like it's designed to do that. Since all forms of CC is stacked in a timeline during SoS, surely your own groups spells (well, in this specific question, the cure mezz) would be stacked on the same basis.

Sounds like it'd be a good idea to make a habit out of always cast a cure mezz on yourself and/or the sorc (or whoever is the CC'er in the group) before the end of the SoS duration, so atleast one is able to demezz/counter CC (if not already done) afterwards (probably already is among the die-hard Mincs out there).

basicly look at sos like this:

ALL it does is let you move at 200% speed (almost speed 5, which is infact 204%) for 30 seconds, bypassing any spell/effect that would otherwise have decreased/stopped your movement speed (mez, snare, root, stun). However you still get the other effects of these spells, only movement is bypassed - thus if rooted and u use sos you effectively have no penalty since a 99% movement speed reduction is what root is. With mez you get to run around but you still cant use your weps or cast spells (except for minstrel cure mez, this is a bug) - until (and this always happens) some tank or caster thinks your not mezzed and does dmg to you breaking the mez. Again with snare same as root only less movement penalty, thus this effect is also totally nullified for 30 seconds while in sos. And stun - movement penalty is nullified but the unable to cast/use melee effects are not - so if you get slammed while sos is up - you cant do damage for 9(-resists/det) seconds, but you can still move because of sos.

I'm so tired of people complaining sos is effectively a group purge, it is not - the only (albeit very good) use is offensive in group vs group combat to keep your healers/mages alive because they can outrun tanks (eg lets a sorc outrun persuing tank and get some distance & /face quickcast mez or something.
