I've just bought it and the 360 pad is beyond shit for this game. Absolutely fucking pointless - I couldn't even bash out a few sonic booms. I'll have to look in to getting a Saturn pad - anywhere other than ebay have them?

Some tips:

Sagat is the strongest character, Ryu is a close second.
Stop jumping.

How do you unlock characters? After an awful lot of cursing, an awful lot of crouching when I meant to move left, a few dozen dragon punches when I wanted a fireball, I beat Seth and got rewarded with a stupid anime vid :\.

Oh and my Live ID is Spodge, I'd change it to something moderately less shit but I'm not paying money for that :\.

Cammy Beat Arcade Mode with Crimson Viper.
Fei Long Beat Arcade Mode with Abel.
Gen Beat Arcade Mode with Chun Li.
Rose Beat Arcade Mode with M. Bison (Dictator).
Sakura Beat Arcade Mode with Ryu.
Dan Beat Arcade Mode with Sakura.
Akuma Unlock Cammy, Dan, Fei Long, Gen, Rose and Sakura. Beat the game again — but use a character you've beat the game with before. You cannot continue and must win 2 rounds by perfect victories.
Gouken Unlock Akuma and beat the game with him. Then beat the game again with any character by winning the matches in the following ways...

Fight 1. Perfect
Fight 2. Ultra
Fight 3. Ultra
Fight 4. Ultra
Fight 5. Normal
Fight 6. Normal
Fight 7. Normal
Fight 8. Normal
Seth Beat arcade mode with all characters. Beat Arcade Mode with Gouken. You cannot continue.

Wij fisted me good n proper.

Tip to making the characters easier to unlock: set difficulty to easiest and set the round limit to 1, it makes it very fast to get everything unlocked.

Oy I absolutely suck at this game, it's really rather frustrating though I think a better pad will help.


Oh and sorry for missing the game ECA - once I get playing a match against a computer I can't stop until I've beaten it. It's a fucking disability :\.

What character/s are you having problems beating him with?

He tends to open with the dhalsim low fists, or a jumping attack so either use a move ( you can input a command when the 1/fight appears and it will occur once you can move ) that gives you a second away from the ground or jump back and go into ranged mode, when he eventually jumps in you want to defend and then counter with some EX moves and get some distance back, make sure you know your ultra combo as well as it's useful when you're struggling with him to start with.

Have this on the 360, manage to unlock every char after a day of proper play on Sagat. But yeah, the 360 pad is SHIT for this game, horrible. I've not actually played in like 3 months (Not since I actually got home really) - Is a good game... Do saturn pads work on the 360?

Not sure about pads, I think it's universally agreed it's best played on a stick. The madcatz licensed stick is like £100.

( I'm cheap and using keyboard on the pc ).

A really good tip to learn the more effective combos ( which wij forced me to start doing ) is to complete the trials ( main menu ).

If you can do everything on all the normal trials for your character pretty much on demand ( fuck you fake kick sagat fuck you ), you're going to be in pretty good shape.

There are loads of USB Saturn pads on eBay. I have two. A grey one and a black one. Avoid the white ones according to rumorz !
