If I where to join this lovly realm what would I want to think about ?

I'm playing a Thane at moment and I kind of like the fighter/mage type of guy. Was thinking about a Champion or a Warder as my main char for hibi, but what to pick in stats, races, weapons and what to spec in if I want an overall cool guy that can bash them monsters aswell as help out in the war againts the other realms.

One thing I do think i'll make is a luri nightshade, to realy because im the stalker kind of guy but I'd like to have a little man dressed in green and named after Gromnirs old nick name in midgard [The Green Moss Faerie]

ps. I havent deleted Gromnir yet, I have to give away all my sweet stuff to random people first ... a little guy named minideath got lucky to day as I gave him a vault full of hunter items ;)

Would a Celt Champ with +10str +10dex +10pie be wise ?

I kind of like the Celt Females :) (male isent that bad to) but the for me Luris are small and I realy hate the idea of not being able to reach the bar in the tavarn in the evening. They are cool as casters and nightshades though :)

From what I can read i'll try out the champ first, and then later on the warder.

think +10str +10dex +10int would be better. :p

int is for Eldritch, Mentalist, Enchanter, Champion, Nightshade
emp is for Druids, Wardens, and Rangers
cha is for Bards

Hibbies and Albs use +int, and Midgard stole all the PIE!

Everyone and his dog seem to be playing Luri champions at the moment after several members of the realm made them famous (e.g my glorious guild leader Malevolencia ;)) - they're a bit like enchanters on Camlaan !

However Champs and Wardens are both excellent PvE, wardens not quite as good tanks, but act well as both backup tanks and healers and of course have PBT :)

For my champ I put 15 into str and 10 into dex. Could also go for 10 str 10 dex 10 con, wouldn't bother putting the points into intelligence but it is all down to your own discretion of course.
50 Large Weapons, 50 Valor, 28 Parry will be my final spec, if you were thinking of trusting Mythics attempted fixing of parrying/blocking in rvr then maybe go for 50 LW, 40 Valor, 41 Parry (I think that's what you can get). But remember that by doing this you lose the last self str/con buff which unfortunately is at 50 Valor.
All these specs assume you were thinking of creating a Large Weapon Champion :) Never really looked at sheild champion specs so maybe others could help you more.

Hi there,

If you want a good fighter the Champion would be far superior in melee than the Warden.

If you want to make a battle Warden Id suggest choosing a Firby for their slighly higher strength (plus they are big and scary looking :D) and aiming for a spec of 44weapon, 29 parry, 2 regrowth and 49nurture or thereabouts which would give you the best bubble\resists and improved melee damage.

If you want a good all round support Warden you can drop your weapon spec to 39 or 34 and bump up to regrowth to at least 16 (for improved rez) with leftovers in parry. Im aiming for 34Blunt weapon, 17parry, 22regrowth and 49nurture at 50. I find my damage isnt the best but is usable and I can heal reasonably well without eating up too much power.

Good luck with your new characters :).

Or wait until 1.56 and have a Luri Hero :)

Just be prepared for the fact that Luri Champs have the same strength as a Celt Hero now with buffs - my str is capped and a well known Luri Champ has 1 less strength than me buffed by the same druid, quite silly when you think about it - and yes I put 10 points into str at startup and have Aug Str 1.

That said, Luri Champs don't have the same con, nor do they have Moose. But I'd swap Moose any day for snare, deubuffs and DD.

50 Celt Hero, Raven Ardent, Hib Pryd

fear champs for their RA too, dont forget that.

overall: it depends how u want to play a char (from a groups perspective and soloing in RvR)

soon GOA will set range on conc buffs, so all of you i-need-buff-bot-to-survive and i-am-specced-to-be-buffed foes of hibernia, it looks like I'll be duelling you (unless u put that whatnot-buffbot on stick ;) )

If you gonna make a champ put points in Con, we don't raise Constitution while lvling. Also for ubber dmg make a celt LW, for ubber Defence (s/s) make a luri, elf can be good with shouts too. With a good spec and good items weapons you will be able to solo yells/oranges and tank very well in grps. Uber puller for the 5 shouts. you can pull all the mobs on you so you make sure none runs for the casters/healers, then other tanks pick their mobs, your debuffs will be helpfull for the grp but unfortunately will eat your endurance.

In RvR you are a hero with debuffs and a DD shout, your snare is good to catch people but nothing more. The self buff is very useful when solo or without druid (doesn't stack with druids str/con buff btw). Debuffing warks pretty fine in RvR.

For more information check http://www.hallofvalor.com, it is most helpful.

As a Warden you might have problems in the start but after you got your grp BT, you will have no problems finding a grp. A firbie warden is a good fighther warden. You need the Str to fight, as you want be healing so much. Wardens are great, solo or grp. You can tank easy, you have spd, BT, dmg add, heal and styles! It is more supporting than the champion but can be main tank in a grp too. You can have a shield but not a LW, also no shield styles :(

Put 16 in Regrowth (for the better rezz)
39 in Blades (for the all time chain style Fire/dancing blade)
rest in Nurture (I am not sure how many they are)

Gimme a call in the game if you make a Champ!
