A little Emain Fun?

I know this will probably not happen, since 99% of the Mids are brainless Zergers, and 99% of the Albs don't have backbones...

but, what about having a little fun by having...

Nobody going past an enemy MG. And Neither Alb/Mid going into Breif (Hibs can retreat to Crimm). Basically, set the valleys from outside MMG towards the twin Emain/Breif valleys as Zerging country, and set the MG->PK as Zerg-free. Like the good old days...a few huge rumbles in the bowl. Some form of variation over the stupid MG/PK camping...

Or just stop going to Emain and start going to Odins and Hadrians, hmm thinking about that maybe not Hadrians as most Albs can't find Pennines nevermid beyond it :p Odins is a nice place to do battle though and the Mids that are usually there defending are the classier players anyway imho.

The more groups you have in your force... the less manoeverability you have. This is due to communication/ld's etc. I guess, but once you pass 2fg's total.. you're going to find it hard to really use the terrain much or try out any interesting tactics.

Once you reach around 4fg's or more, basically all you can do is sit at a mg and occasionally rumble back and forth to the other mg or Crauchon.

If you can manage to stick to the 8 players in your group, then break off and do your own thing. At that point it's very easy to nip into Breifine, ambush people from trees, scout ahead down path and set up for fights etc. This type of RvR contains a lot of variety and fun, and will be rewarding and challenging. You won't have to bother posting on forum to complain about the state of rvr, because you'll barely be thinking about the flatulent zergs sat at the amg while you're zipping about and having fun in places afar.

Fight the Powah!

WAR! Slayn Out!

P.S. Oh, and Brannor... you missed out the 99% silly Hibbies from your list. Don't let the blinkers of comradeship hide you from the truth. There have actually been plenty of Albs about in Breifine->Ligen area of late actually. Lead to some very interesting fights with patches of 4-8 Hibs on their way up... lots of fun and commendable that Albs are up for trying out new things.

Resist the zerg!!!

alltought this is hard when 30 mids charge over your single group out to have some fun.

I was at bk in hib some day ago, was loads of fun ambusing people till some full group of hibs came out and owned us :twak: :twak:

Totally agree Hardbein.

Other than pming on boards like this, I'm not sure how we are
ever gonna get 8 v 8 fights like we used too. Seek and ye shall find I pray..

We try and get rolled a lot, never cower from 2 fg's +, don't get uber rp's, but have more fun when we are just 8. We also remember good victories based upon player abilities/skills and good fortune.

We go all over the place to find foes. Win some lose some etc, etc.

As you say fingers crossed come pvp server...

Brannor does make a fair point, but we all have to stick our hands up to being involved in mindless folly at some point or other. Sometimes it can be fun, ala Dunkirk type stuff, but in the main boring.

;)

My first ever RvR experiance was a 3 way meeting of zergs in the big bowl, it was awesome, was in the days when everyone fired arrows, my arrows all got blocked my Fribolg pal had 4 arrows sticking out of his chest.... so I sat down with my back to the enemy and wacthed them charge over me and kill all my friends... shortly after I was brained by a dwarf....

2 years later my daoc addiction is finally dying off... wish i could be a noob again, the games so much more fun when your a lowbie that doesnt know what the hell is going on.

This should be meant for a post called first ever rvr moment :) but hey...wibble

Its ok for all you 50s to get your groups and going dancing around, and i suppose i am blessed by having a compassionate guild, but what the hell am i meant to do to relieve the boredom of training? im 35th, and the BG that was intended to give younger seasons some REAL sport, before they can do real damage in the frontier, is DEAD AS A BIG DEAD THING WITH NO HEAD!

I have posted requests for a reason that no one of the applicable season chooses to go to these places on the Battlegrounds board, and i only got one answer - from a 12th somethingor other, which didnt help at all...

People complain that theres not enough to do, theres this bug, theres that bug, no one will group me in RvR, no one will group me in XPing, or alternatively, complaining the games got dull now youve reached 50...

Ill tell you what drags this game down; the people who play it. Mythic have provided us with more than enough to keep people amused, but no one wants to know. Unless its in the frontier, or uber-training so that reaching 50 comes in 3 days of solid playing (no mates), its considered irrelevant. Jesus christ, everyday i hear of somone of early 30s say "ooh, i dont want to go to the frontier, i just get 1 shotted" of course you do!!!!!!!!!!! why do you think Caledonia is there??? people enjoy Thid, right? people go there regularly, many have capped there. Then whats the difference with thid and caledon other than the fights would be more interesting, and perhaps a little more of a challenge? yup, im a merc and im fully advocating the use of any method you feel fit to come try and drop me in Caledon.. in fact, i think i might just drop Redi off in the keep and spend the rest of my days living on my own private estate, in my own private keep, with the most elaborate entryphone system youve ever seen...

bollocks you can all piss off and leave Caledon alone then...

"GET ORF MOI LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!"

<thinks he might ask GoA to change its name to Caer Redi...>

8 vs 8 fights are fun with a DECENT team. But DECENT teams are made up by the same ppl everyday if someone is missing then fill it up with a guild mate or somebody wandering around. So if you are not part of the basegroup, then you are busted and need to stick with the zerg.
