A Laptop

Hi there, i'd like a laptop. For DAoC and/or WAR. Want it to run either one without a problem.

I've got around 500 for it. Could i get a laptop that would run those games? If so, any ideas where to shop/look for? Cheers y'all

Hey laddy was gonna post a question about a laptop aswell..

I need one for uni work.. basically only for work as i got my PC down there aswell. My bugdet is 400 quid max. I want a duo core 1.7+, pref 15inch, no bigger as I need it mobile, 1gig ram as it will be probably running vista, but still tempted to stick xp on as its only 1 gig. 80gig + hd is fine. Gfx card not that important but 128mb would be nice.

Best ive seen is this :

Ive been looking into some dells which seem ok. I love the look of the 1400 vostro (the £369 one), tho P&P isnt included and with vat it adds an extra 140 quid on. BUt as i said i only need it for work. Link is :

That's alot of Car Stereos.

On Topic. 500 is a tad short for decent Lappy. The XPS from Dell run at about 700 for the M1330. Nice machine and will run any of the current games no problem.

Newest ones use the 8400M Nvidia Card. Plenty powerful enough. Just having my 18 month old XPS updated with this card.

Alienware are owned by Dell, you're not buying the hardware; you're buying the price.

Buy a Sony laptop and pay for quality.

This might sound daft, but Carphone Warhouse are doing a deal where if you sign up for aol broadband on a 2 year contract, you get a laptop

well for 1 u aint gonna fit an 8800gtx in a laptop.. its basically half side the laptop and twice the width .... although the gtx is like 2/3 your price for a comp i doubt you will get that

still a 500£ desktop should be better than a 500£ laptop

+ im moving to stafford in 2 days for uni (preston scum!)
