We don't even get the chance to run in RvR, with our crappy hp we get pretty much 2hit killed by grey cons ;)

Bah MtG had gone downhill by the Thallids...

Gauntlet of Might, Mox Ruby, Black Lotus, 3 mountains and a shivan dragon.

Now that's a mean starting hand :)

(Managed to pull this one once, then again it was a 40 card deck in the days when they were allowed, playing against two random strangers who had well over 100 cards in their decks - we'd actually been playing under the assumption that you had to play 40 cards.. no less no more for quite a while...which led to some pretty nasty tactics at our home games)

I think one guy managed to bring out a scavenging ghoul before I killed them both.

oh lord , you're playing with shivan's in a type one deck ?

i kinda play all really annoying decks
(land equilibrium, stasis , land destruction+juzams's , dream halls , and the like)

everyone i know doesnt want to play against the stasis (i counter everything you play and you basically get to do zip but draw cards and wait till the combo is out so i skip all my turns) or the dream halls (i get dream halls out in 2nd or 3th turn and play about 45 minutes milling your deck with visions charm)

once you get the hang of creatureless you won't play anything else imo :)


on topic now : imho pallies fall under the "rule in pve = suck in rvr"-rule . i'm playing bits in albion now and im really happy to have a pally in the party. The chants really kick ass in pve as far as i'm concerned.

Paladins suck in RvR because their chants need time to be effective..

it's general melee malaise. If tanks were effective then paladin chants would make groups of tanks that much more effective which makes paladins that much more effective? see?

defensive abilities are underpowered in RvR

I played with the cards I had :) this is aaaaaaages ago...
we had about 6 packs between us.

Lightning bolts, fireballs, mountains, cheesy artifacts, dragons :)
the odd two-headed giant for coolness.

not as nice as the sinkhole deck.

games generally went along the lines of:

A: bit of land.

B: play swamp + mox jet, sinkhole.

A: play land,

b: sinkhole...

etc. :)

course the great white death or the green weenie decks could beat the sinkholes (e.g. the elven mana battery 1/1 thingies lawnmower elves thats it)
