Yesterday (saturday 25/03) I joined the Co5-azazel raid from Stellaartois.
It was a nice raid and I thank Stella for it.

One thing happened which made me look bad.

I played my char Cabalist Calea, and I was supposed to lead the 3rd group of the raid together with group no 4 of Asgoad.

I invited Sunset and Disincarnate to come along, 2 prydwen char's, but I made a stupid mistake.
In the chaos of messages in my chat-window, I miss-understood the player of the char's Sunset & Disincarnate.
One of the char's was in my grp which made my group being full. The other couldn't join.

What SHOULD have happened : the char in my group should have logged and the other char should have joined instead.
But I miss-understood ; I thought the player would disband and join the 5th group (don't know if there was a 5th group eventually) with both his char's.

Some of my grp warned me that I made a mistake, but I wasn't sure ...
Because of my mistake, the player lost the opportunity to join the raid.

I sincerely apoligize for it, it was my mistake
Some people called me a noob for it ...
A noob trying to do things & organising bad things ...
Being a rpg-fan, this was a worsed-case scenario for me.

This is for the player of 'Sunset' and 'Disincarnate' only : I owe you a favor, so you can pm me for whatever reason and I got 500g aside for you.

To the others who called me a noob : I'm sorry, but I was being human for a moment :p

See you all in-game :worthy:

First off, my friend told me to pm you about two slots in your group.

I messaged you the names of my characters and then logged on a few mins later to find out that you had already invited the group so full that only my minstrel made it in. Then I said to you CLEARLY that I was going to log the mincer out and join with my cleric instead, as that char needed Co5 the most. You agreed to this, again CLEARLY, and when I came back you had already invited someone else. Luckily the raid leader got some other people aswell, who couldn't get a group, so I stuck with them and got the steps done, even tho it took a long time.

Judging by your actions, your leading skills don't seem to be very good and when you forget your own raid, I don't rate you as as very good person \ player, who only comes up with excuses.

I don't need \ want your help.

Regards, SF.

Why be an arse about it? The guy said sorry as from his point of view, he wasn't completely sure what went on but now he is and apologised. It's posts like this which make potential future raid leaders think twice about even bothering to try large raids.

Hah, has sod all to do with larger raids.

A person who can't think and tries to come up with some excuses is worth nothing in my book.

No, I don't care what you think of me really, up to you.

Edit:

Potential raid leaders really have a long way to learn stuff then, if they forget things and get confused on this large of a scale.

Well judging you by the way you react here (hence your actions) you are a pretty sad individual. Someone apologizes openly to you and you act like this. Well if this is your way to try to get into future groups good luck cos you are gonna need it.

How I see it, the person is just trying to clear his name with excuses and I don't believe that.

Really ? That's too bad then I guess

I should've maybe screenshotted all the conversations and group hassle for people who weren't there. Anyway, your attempt to demoralize me has failed.

Wow talk about vindictive....

Calea fully apologised and admitted it was his own fault, are you still so bitter about the 'hassle' that you can't see this for what it is?

I'm not bitter at all. I fail to see the legitimacy of this post, that is all.

Why I think so is simply because of how this person has handled things. It tells enough about him and he was too clear about understanding what I was telling him and how we were handling joining the group. It's simply bull shit what happened and this kind of post doesn't help you to clear your name.

If you knew me even a bit, you would know that I wouldn't make such assumptions and reply so brutishly if I wasn't sure about it. If I wrong, then I am wrong and I apologise. If you don't like it how I put things here, I won't blame you.

Also if you weren't a) there b) in the group c) or know nothing how the exchange of messages between me and Calea went, you SHOULD NOT push the reply button and write a novel about how you feel about the situation.

When an outsider reads this thread, he/she will think "oh my what an asshole that person is!" no doubt, but every story has two sides.

Such a flame war this thread will be, but so be it then :(

No I don't know you from a bar of soap, but I know Calea and that's why I replied to defend him. I didn't suggest you were an asshole, but I do think you're taking the original post the totally wrong way.

1st off...I agree with Soulfly about the point of this thread...(took me about 3 times to read the original post to come to any kind of understanding of it.)
2nd...SF, you're a big lad now and been in game a loooong time, at the end of the day, the job got done. Stella led a great raid, thats what should come out of this, not bitterness, which you clearly feel looking at your reply to the original post.
There were mistakes, (there always will be mistakes, 'cos we are human) they were sorted out.
Respect the fact the raid was a success, don't dwell on the little nigly things such as, 'human error'. It would be a boring world if there was'nt such a thing don't you agree?
THE point of this thread should be....'Ya, we had problems BUT great raid stella...keep it up:clap:

My dear Soulfly

You're right all along ; I DO want to clear my name
And this worthless thread, was my way to say I'm sorry.

Pity, you don't like it ... I suggest you never group again with me, best solution for the 2 of us.
As you won't hear of me again after this.

But I will still help some people around the best I can, sorry, btu you seem to smart for me ... :worthy:

I wish a had a fancy pic like many others about the chat-window, or a log of it, so I could show you what I saw in 60 seconds.
I don't ask you to believe me, NO not even to trust me, why should you ?
But I do ask you to get over this, so if we meet again later, we just play as before.

I'm aware this is an excuse, because this is MEANT to be one.
and the reason of starting this thread, this is the fastest way to reach you ...
this thread is not meant to 'attack' soulfly.
It is still me who made this stupid mistake.
He's been on longer on daoc than I, so he knows better.

T

I would like to point out, that I was bitter and overwhelmed about the sheer weirdness of the situation when it happened, but I am not bitter now.

Stella lead a great raid, no one is claiming otherwise, and treated people very fairly (a firm salute to him).

I agree with you old acquintance mr.Sanspite (Who I assume you are), but there is human error, and then there're the happenings surrounding this incident, which unfortunately do not fit into my way of thinking.

That is why I brought it up. (In other words, no you didn't suggest such a thing). I might be taking it the wrong way, I might not, either way life goes on.

I have no trouble grouping with you in the future (if need be), as I don't easily hold a grudge, but I do remember people and if things get "funny" I usually try to solve them, were the means good or bad.

Yes, why should I trust a complete stranger. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I've been "over it" since Stella asked me to stick around with his two groups. And as stated before, I don't hold such grudges and only divas act any other way. There are a few selected people who I will never ever cope with again...cough...najwa...cough.

I would like to know what does playing a game "longer" than someone else have anything to do with knowing better when the talk is about this kind of a subject? Ofcourse it has a some sort of a role when the discussion is about game-related topics, but this, nopes.

I can't be arsed to write any more novel-like replies to this thread, so keep throwing stuff at me if you wish (this goes to the anonymous strangers who ever you might be), it won't matter or change anything. I simply don't care and will wonder how many will call me an egoistical prick.

Soulfly is a n00b and he knows it :D

Couldnt lead a raid, even if his life depended on it. Always gets me killed one way or another....

... hmm, mind you i think that is partly to do with my suicidal tendencies and his willingness to indulge me in my stupidity - ungrouped, unbuffed merc charging around sidi pulling a dozen mobs aint health :p
