Did anyone else like this show when it was on TV? With presenter Michael Burke talking of real life stories which would be generally life or death, and how they overcome the situations.

It was a shame it was cancelled, it really gave you insight into first aid, and what to do in situations which would be out of the norm, as well as warning you of potential dangers in and out of every day life.

We need something like that on TV nowadays, none of this Casualty/Holby stuff, some real life documentaries, a real learning curve!

The music was awesome as well!

Used to love that show until it went from people falling off cliffs and being rescued in terrible conditions in the nick of time to cutting their finger in the garden and feeling dizzy. The drop off was noticeable towards the end.

Little bit of 999 trivia for you, the guy who played the marine Private Crowe in the best movie of all time Aliens, was a British man named Tip Tipping and was an ex SBS and Royal Marine turned stuntman/actor. He died in an accident filming a scene for 999 recreating a parachute that nearly went wrong, unfortunately in the recreation it seems it did go wrong. Tragically ironic I feel.

It was seriously dull. Only the occasional freak accident made it interesting (pool cue in neck was a good one).

Well you could always watch Police Camera Action!, presented by the patronising and clueless twice-convicted drink driver Alastair Stewart.
