Bah, that all added to the mystery and suspense. Besides, my brain hurts from trying to make up the french words for everything all weekend. My active imagination and me end up talking in tongues.

Actually, it was all rather tame and wholesome, compared to my usual jaunts. No death threats, and whilst we did dine from the endangered species menu, that was about as racey as we got. Serves me right for thinking Ostriche was just a fancy way of writing beef... The erotic art museum was certainly, well, phalic is probably the best word. We went to Moulin Rouge, and got as far as asking how much it costs before hitting the reception lady over the head with a french stick and running into the distance. £60 to see jiggling titties? I'll just poke my head down my top and jump about, thank you very much. The black eyes are fading, and we used the sixty quid each we saved to go eat food and be generally tourist like.

Our hotel room was wonderfully tacky, and watching Stargate the Series dubbed into French is an experience not to be missed. We went and watched Jim Carreys new film, The Majestic, with french subtitles. For those that haven't heard of it, that's probably because its an international joke played on the french, and it was actually meant to be sold in a package deal to UK Living, along with a film about a mother who adopts two algerian children who were raised by wolves, and then struggles to protect them from her alcoholic ex husband who wants to sell them to buy hookers. But it was feel good, despite being laughable, and a fun time was had by all.

Anyway, can't think of anything else really... I'm starving and onion soup is rank.

Everyone has the right to pronounce foreign names as they see fit. I believe Winston Churchill said that.

I hope you followed suit :D

Heh. The fish survived. Although it didn't look like they ate much of the floaty (well, not so floaty) food block that was meant to last them the weekend.

Paris was a good experience overall.
The thing was that I was sent over their "on company business" so if they asked me to do something while I was over there, I didn't really have much cause to complain. We wrote off friday just getting our bearings and getting all my work stuff out of the way. We managed to get to see the Louvre at night, which was nice.

Saturday we (I) took time getting out of bed. We were only out of the Hotel five mins, just about to get on the Metro (Paris version of the Tube) when I got a call from work.
Bang goes two hours of what was supposed to be a day completely to ourselves.
We get to the Eiffel Tower around 3pm just AFTER the restaurant we'd had recommended to us had closed! :(

But we put a brave face on and did all the touristy stuff, as Damini said.

We had a good time overall and the best part is it hardly cost much at all cos it was a "working weekend". Nice.
