Just make one. Ally or steel tubing and some wood planks. Done.

I use a big green plastic garden table. Doesn't look as nice, but only cost £40 and does the job!

It's a proprietary framing system, sort of like Meccano for grownups (or grownup applications, I should say). Probably hideously expensive and easily creatable yourself if you're building something rigid like a desk.

I hate drawers on both sides; I need room to swing me legs, I do. I have 2 desks - one 1.6m wide from Ikea with nothing underneath except my legs and the sub and 2 monitors and laptop on top and the other to the side (perpendicular) with drawers under and printers and stuff on top. It suits me.

ive made my current desk. made it out of mdf. buidling it didnt take long but wasnt prepared for painting. so much sanding was required after each coat till i was happy

never buying a desk or owt from ikea, last desk was from thier vika range i think. i dropped something on it by accident and it put a hole in it the edges have studs in where you screw the legs and the center is supported up by think cardboard in a hexgon pattern.

using any old table would be nice but the space where this desk is going aint great, and the fact i hope tobe moving out by the end of the year. i'd like soamt i cant take apart and re use in a diff layout

Bumpage. Did you ever get anywhere with this @Yaka I'm curious if this is any good as I'd quite like to get a serious desk installed in my new flat as the walls aren't suitable for mounting.
