some people on here know i work in an internet cafe which at the mo isnt doing to well and as the owner wants it to now go under he is taking some steps to make sure of this.

first off he is coming back to work. now there are 3 members of staff me who does just under 40 hours a week andother who does 30 and one other that does 12.

he isnt sacking anyone but he is making it very difficult for me to stay he know i cant work evening shifts and so instead of sacking people he is making a new rota with him doing 9-5 mon-fri and him doing one evening shift of 5-10 leving just short of 45 hours of shifts left all of which evenings and weekeds shifts knowing that i cant working just evening and weekends i am being forcerd to look for a new job and 4 weeks to do this in :(

I am pretty sure he cant just change your core hours just like that, what does your contract of employment say. If its set hours on set days or something similar then he can go fuck himself, say its unreasonable for him to expect you to change your hours just like that. If he jkicks off then its down to the citizens advice or go see an employment lawyer, look in your local paper and you will see lots of adverts for a free consultation just to see if you have a case.

on the other hand, if you don't have a contract of employment he can do pretty much wtf he likes......

If your hours are sorted out the same as working in a Pub then i'm afraid he can change them all he likes

If the business is going under then why not just leave now, while you're still being paid?

Better that than you arrive for work one day and the place is closed, with him owing you money.

Your better off finding another job before leaving - on no account should you leave without another job ready or you'll screw your unemployment benefit claim if the worst came to the worst!

You'd be counted as intentionally making yourself un-employed which would mean a period in which you wouldnt get benefits!
