well actually i was wrong when i switched from component to vga i had 26" lg lcd tv, purchased on a whim based of the raving comments off avforums. was ok for tv and xbox with xbmc running but bad for gaming

For gaming a fast refresh rate is definately needed, the Samsung Syncmasters have 2 to 5ms refresh which is very sexy for FPS
