its good as in good like action films used to be, it doesn't pretend to have that much of a message unlike many "good" films around these days. very stylised and very violent.

Actually really liked the film ;o

Just saw it and it is of course visually very impressive (as well as having an impressive musicscore) but it doesnt really have that much else going for it - the story is told much much better in bookform in Steven Pressfields "Gates of Fire" and the acting isnt really that much to write home about (it gets the job done but mostly its just a vehicle for transportation between the action scenes). But if you are looking for an actionfix with typical "honor, glory, freedom - hollywood style" then you wont be disapointed.

I loved it, completely no idea where some people are getting a "gay" vibe from it though! It's about killing, brothers in arms and not much else. It's not like they're bending each other over their shields and using spears..

I loved the film. It is what it is, and it's bloody good at it too. The writing hit the spot, the fights were superbly choreographed, and it was well cast.
