People that applying RL war logic in a game are just plain stupid. Did soldier wait for his opponent to attack a nearby rabbit before fire his gun? No, obviously.

This is a game, only game rules and balance apply here, not RL logic.

The true is Mythic do not intent to let players lose xp in pvp. This is what we have been told from day one. Now, these griefer are manipulating an obvious game design flaw to break this rule. They are exploiter to a lesser extend. IMHO, they deserved a atleast a warning.

Hmmkay, as far as i know that is the only spot for irewoods. May be wrong, but i've been about a bit (watch it! ) and have never seen any in hib.

Also this mentality of kill those greys cos they're just tryin to lvl up so they can come kill our greys is just f-in stupid if u ask me. It's you killin them that gets them pissed off and wanting to kill your greys for revenge. So in essence it is your fault that in a few weeks time there is another group romping through your favoured lvling grounds killin lowbies (mayb xp killin a few, depends how annoyed/much of a knob these people are) Ok even if everyone stopped killing greys there might be a few who'd still do it cos they like to annoy people but at least there'd be less. So i ask any of u who only do it cos, 1. they feel they have to stop the other realm lvlin or 2. cos these people will become grey killers too once they get the chance to stop it now cos you are only hurting your own realm mates when u do this. This would only leave the odd knob end and make the game a much happier and less grief striken place. Ok, i admit i have been on one trip to mid with a grp and killed an xpin grp at the crabs. Worst con was green tho (not grey) but i'm still not proud, was a stupid thing i did fuelled by my lust for revenge. One of our grp even chased down the resser that made a bid for freedom, which was a bit too much i thought. But my point is if it had never have happened to me i wouldn't have even thought to do it.

Now to the people who say it's like war, so anythin goes. Even real life war has some rules (in most places ). Like the killing of innocents. Ok, you'll probably say these xpin lowbies are gonna in the future be joinin the battles in emain, but with a real world twist would you say it was ok to kill all the children in a country you are at war with? Also looking at it in a daoc perspective almost everyone is complainin about lack of action in emain..YET... u r all trying to stop the other realms from lvlin more chars. FFS, let them lvl and join the fun in emain, it'll make the game more fun for everyone.
Those are my 2 squids on this argument. Thought i'd pop them in b4 there is a wordlwide ban on this debate for it's cruel repetition of arguments.

When u leave the sanctity of your realm you MUST realise that your are fair game for ANYONE out there. That is the reason an entire realm is provided for you. Ppl can xp in relative safety there. Your group was the only activity in the area at that time.

p.s I have a caster who has been repeatedly killed as a grey, res killed on numerous occasions by both Hibs and Mids, and xp killed too....... ;-) u might be knocking on the wrong door

Zilly aint silly.

Zilly jumped me once...he must have missed his opening shot on me..because i was soon killing him real quick..then wham I was killed by a scout.
So For last couple of weeks I was sure i could take Zilly out...

Twice now I've had my Luri ass handed to me..so now im notching an arrow and waiting for Zilly to pop up at Alb mile gate some night..I'll be waiting Zilly...
I obviously was a few levels above you when I first encountered
I've learned my lesson and wont wander in front of the MG looking for you..
Regarding the topic of the thread...Zilly didnt do anything wrong as far as I'm concerned.
Some times people kill greys to make higher levels come out to play..other times for the RP's they give..plenty give 200+ to lev 50's especially in Emain..dont know what Hib's hunting in DC give.
Next time Zilly appears in area send a tell to a few people for help.
BTW zilly what RP I give..not much I bet due to me dying all the time..Atrox gave me 963 at lunchtime today...I'll also have to find out what Zilly gives some day.

I can agree with this as a valid tactic, if u don't kill something adn get your name poppin up, how are they gonna know you were there?
But if u use it, then spare a thought for the poor sobs you just ganked and leave a resser alive. They wont be as annoyed as they would be if they had to tramp all the way back there.

And in regards to the main post in this thread, a couple of days ago I had just logged in at Mt. Collory (I had previously logged out at the badger farm) when I noticed 2 grey con Hibs experiencing at Irewoods. I didn't have long to play and was just seeing who was about and while I was deciding what to do I suddenly noticed a blue conning Minstrel appear called Sono stealthed and creeping up on the 2 Hibbies .

Realising the impending danger I decided to shadow Sono a few steps behind and wait for her to attack. As she unstealthed and stunned the Hibs, I moved in and after a couple of hits she died.

I was the Hibs saviour!

And feeling good natured I decided to let the Hibs live and I proceeded back to the badger farm to log out.

So you see, given a scenerio I don't always kill greys.

Hehe, reminds me of when i was a lowbie killin ants in the gorge.
Pooky i think her name was destealthed infront of us waved, danced, blew kisses etc. but didn't hurt us. Even when my trigger happy friend tried to bolt her (of course he missed). She stealthed again and we went back to xpin, then a norse sb (can't remember name) ganked me and my friend. Whilst we were dead pooky appeared again cryin at our corpses. After we were ressed the sb came back and ganked me again but as he was chasin my friend (they always kill me first ) pooky appeared and saved the day. (bit late for me mind u)

Don't know why i just told u that, ah well.

Zilly it not always good to be nice to hibs,
I was in Gorge once and saw a group of 8 grey - green xping on Torc's,
and I was about to gank them when they pulled a torc so I decided to w8.
When these 2 green con ministrels destealthed and started to mezz them, so I crit shotted 1 of the ministrels and started to shoot at the second,
killed 1, then I killed the Torc the hibs had pulled, the second ministrel ran away btw.
So I saved the hibs from a total xp death wipe out. by this time I was out of end so I sat down unstealthed to regen some end, and did a /bow to show the poor hibs that I was friendly to them.
The Hibs came out of their mezzez, and what do they do ?
they try to gank me, useing AoE and manage to pull a new torc on them, so I killed the new torc and didnt touch the hibs, still they spammed me with "you resist the effect" and "blabla attacks you blablabla"
so I got tired on them and ganked em all...

so it's not always a good idea to be friendly

Hmmm, I would have to say Bee isn't all that anyways, i was out killing torcs with my blademaster (lvl27 at the time) and bee came stealthign at us, having mezzed most the grp a few of us got lucky and resisted, /stick and some sever attacking later (plus a tri wield in the ass!) and bee was legging it at half health!

I think someone popped him shortly after as I got my first realm point a big ol 1!!!!!

These days my lvl 42 hero likes to play with skalds and minstys, I play dead till they get close then /stick and shield stun them, freaks em out so fast they panic, also buys your grp or allies some time to make them regret it
I chased an alb minsty halfway across the bowl once doing the same thing, gor bless a bards end song for making sprint/paralyze possible!

Xp killed sucks but feeding these people some rps is no big deal, if that's how they have fun so be it

On the case of fast, m8 u cant hit for toffee bro. 6 DD's im still flapping bout like a lvl 44 fish, managed to evade 3 shots from ur wee rapier u missed another 2 and im still flapping round with 70hp this time i take a small chunk from an orange with 2 dd's about 80-100 a pop then u finally hit me just wanted to know how many rp's am i worth????

Well excuse me for saying Zilly...but the 1st time i got in RvR u killed me 3 times in a row. I was only lvl 24 then so i must have been grey to u.

I mean i do agree on this: when u come in RvR u have a good chance of getting killed. But not 3 times in 5 mins by the same person!!!! That's just lame imho.

Maybe u get ur kicks out of killing grey peeps lots of times in a row but let me tell u this: u did spoil a lot of fun for me and my group. Picture this... 1st time RvR.. we were very excited and a lot of people didn't know what too expect and then u came along and killed almost all my group members and some 2 or 3 times.

I hope i don't need to tell u what this did to our motivation to continue. Maybe u can try to think of this next time u are killing a low leveled grey group just for your own benefit.

I have no recollection of the incident you mention, however in some way I do sympathise with your comments. I do have a strategy that killing grey cons around the Frontier Keeps brings out higher level cons to come out looking for me. My advice to you at your lvl, is that if you wish to test the waters out of the frontier zones you should always be accompanied by higher lvls for protection.
