if ur running XP i can tell u how to do it.. press CTRL+ALT+DEL, on the popup window that appears, click process tab. there look for Game.dll, rightclick that and choose priority = LOW on both the Game.dll's...

(need to have both clients running here and have to do it all over the next time u start the game up) best way is to log in just to the char selection screens for minimum load when starting the second client...

that works good. and u might want to disable all the pre catching in the game to...

/edit: another thing, if ur using 2 TOA clients the CPU usage and RAM usage is much greater.. i cant run 2 TOA clients in TOA for instance..

so im just using 1 SI and 1 TOA client and dont start the second client if i have to go to ToA

This however, will make most computers unstable. You can try it, but I would not recommend it. It works great if you want to stick on character to the other and then run somewhere, but other than that it will just make you lag more, and get freeze lag of 5sec a little now and then while switching account

Even if you fix the problem, dont get your hope up too much. If you plan to buy ToA, you will get dissapointed. I run a p4 2.8 with 1.28 gb ram and GF4 FX5900 card. Broadband at 300/768. My harddrive is always defragmented and I got plenty of room for swapfile. Still - running 2 GoA accounts on 1 pc is almost impossible. I can get around yes, but have lag constantly and almost cant control styles in combat.

It would be useful to know the machine spec you got there.

The memory process thing works great for me, but not on LOW, i set it to below normal or you will get more lag due to processes running at normal allocation like anti-v and system processes taking priority.

What res u trying to run at? I use the main one at 1024x768 and bb acc at 800x600.

Have you turned off all details on the BB acc? Names, low gfx all help.

Latest drivers / DX9?

Also if you have a network card, im sure there was an issue using Microshats own drivers, get the manufacturers own, that seemed to help a lot of ppl.

On the ToA note, one thing I found helpful was to set a manual page file size, instead of the windows assigned. I just made it double the size of my ram (2056Mb with 1028Mb Ram).

As for fragmenting, I use Diskkeeper 8, run it at night when in bed and my PC is busy DLing pr0n. Either that or run defrag once a week.

My spec:

AMD 2500 Barton (not as yet OCd)
1028Mb 3200 Ram
120Gb 7200rpm HD
GFarce FX5600 (256Mb)
ZA firewall software
Sophos Anti-Virus
DiskKeeper 8

Seems to work well for me, although I only have 1 window up at any time, the second remains in the task bar.

Currently running

AMD 3000+
1024 GB RAM
Radeon 9800 (standard)
1Mb Cable Internet conn.

I had trouble when running 2 ToA accounts at the same time until I found a reg. hack.

Now it works like a dream. I can even stick my bot on my skald and run around in mach 6 without loosing stick on the bot. No problem with style or similar. Only negative thing is that the load times tend to be a little to long.

I'll post the reg hacks later

Im running on a 2.8 gig p4, 1024 ram, radeon 9800 xt. I can easily run 2 accounts in toa and have zero lag switching back and forth. Running both accounts in 1024/768. I tried having both accounts logged in during a rr with about 250-300 mids/hibs around - didnt crash! Was VERY laggy though...

What I do get problems with though, is underwater ML dungeons.. My screen tends to freeze for 10 secs then a loud BEEP sound. Sometimes the screen goes black and I can only restart comp the hard way to fix it.. :eek7: Also when I relog charecters the comp tends to freeze up 10 secs too, but havent experienced being have to restart it the hard way yet.

Check things like your Graphics aperature size in the BIOS.
This sets the amount of RAM that will be used by your graphics card. It used to be recommended to twice your graphicc card's memory... but you can use different settings and see what's best for you. About 128MB should be fine, or lower if you're short on RAM.

Tweak your memory settings too, if you have the option. You could experiment with raising your FSB speeds, but overclocking memory might be going a little far in this case

Increase your pagefile size and if you have another hardisk, set it to use that.
Disable pre-caching on both accounts, and turn off all details/sounds on your 2nd account.
Use a different installation for each account!
