Just wondering if there are any practicing 2h critblades here on excal.

I'm seriously thinking of biting the bullet after 1.62 and going 50 axe 50 cs 36 stealth

I'm currently 44la 44 axe 34 cs 36 stealth


Had a mess around with 2h and cs styles but with 34+13 cs i found i missed one hell of a lot on mobs with garrote/hamstring combo. Obviously after patch i would be 50+13 axe 50 +13 cs, would that make a difference to my miss rate with 2hander?

Dmg was pretty good when it landed but i was shocked by the misses.

The other alternative was 50+13 axe 50 +13 crit 36+13 stealth

drop the 14 envenom for 14+13 left axe and go for DR2 which by my calculations should give me around 39 left axe skill.

The reason being that i noticed that when dual wielding with cs styles i missed a lot less.

Any opinions guys?

Im a CB 44cs/axe 35stealth 25LA(dual wield bounus) 27envenom,
I really enjoy the spec ive hit some high PAs with my 2h axe, beat a few infils in melee after they get the jump on using my 2 1h axes best PA ive had is on a rr3 infil for 947 no crit so im pleased

aye achilles thats the one, only just started using my cs styles in pve, trying to get used to them before the switch to cb.

I guess i will go 2h 50cs 50axe, i know im prolly gonnna get pwned by infs and ns the majority of the time, but then i do a lot as it is if they are slash specced.

My primary targets will be casters and healers i guess, and the odd assassin who is already in combat.

I was just a little concerned with my misses when using a 2hander thats was the main reason for this post.

Well, I could be wrong but last enervating is VERY good....any spec without it is gimped
My sb was once 50axe 50la ~17envenom and respecced to 47/44/33 (+14) and noticed it was much easier killing stuff...
Also, no enervating vs tanks = dead sb

Becuase I've never really bothered with envenom to high levels i wont really miss it. At the moemnt with items my env is about 26 or 27, and to be honest my enervating is resisted 90% of the time. So what I havent had I wont really miss.

I'm going for the bigger upfront dmg from opening hit, ive always found that if the caster isnt dead in 1st two hits i am.

Anyhoo, not really bothered if my spec is gimped or considered gimped, as long as i have fun playing it.

You know that PA is based on this:

75 + Critical Strike Spec * 9 + Nonstyle Cap

Thus 50CS vs 44CS is only 54 difference on cap. IMHO getting lvl 47 Env good for your health. Thus I think as a CB going somthing like 47WE/44CS is best, cuz then you still have enough points for getting that lvl 47 Env

IMHO 47/44 with lvl 45DoT/47Env >> 50/50 with crap poison.

Uhm Panicstrikes was a 2h axe using CB but I think he deleted his chars and moved to alb.

I'm CB, and i think that my spec is something like:
44axe/cs
35sth/env

Working fine imo, dmg cap with 2h axe is 999 and some casters will die facing those dmg points. And vs infills I got my 2h for PA (If my 56k modem is quick enough to hit em first ) and then using 2 1h axes against em and got another crippeling axe rdy in my invet IF they would resist becouse belive me.. 70% of the time you need to run from the infills. You win if you got purge rdy to take away the 47 debuff they got couse then you get like 100 more dmg with garrote/or the evade style (forgot the name). Got + max in env/Sth/axe/cs. And you reallt should get the 47 debuff, fighting without it often feels like getting smacked into the ground quick. But carry around with alot of axes in emergancys like if theres quick combats and you can't wait for the timer on puting env. on so only change axes. Well thats what I do atleast, often alot of fumbeling in the begining when changeing axes in invent.

2h Critblade here, 39 sword, 44 Cs, 35 Envenom, 35 Stealth. I really miss la because against Nightshades/Infiltrators i really miss the advantage of two fast weapons, with my slow 2h Sword ive been to much interupted while fighting agains them and 1h Sword/Shield is not that good. Casters my main targets are going down in one (with dot poison) or two hits, but when do you see casters wandering alone these days?

Thinking of respeccing to zerker (even with the coming La nerf)

why go 47 weapon specc?
u get no more style from going from 44-47, might aswell put those points in env and stealth .

Thx for advice guys, I have finally opted for the following.

44+13 cs
50+13 axe
22+13 envenom
16+13 + DR2 left axe
36+13 stealth


at least the 35 env will give me a better dot, and in a couple of rr time ill have access to 2nd best enervate.

I have tested 2hander in pve over and over and am just not satisfied with it miss rate, I'll prolly keep it for those soft targets and sitters etc but i find 2 axes to hit more often.

Maybe with a future respec ill drop my stealth a little as i gain in rr and pump more into envenom.

My spec is: 48 sword = pretty high weaponskill
44 cs = enough for decent PA
33 stealth = shit, but what can you do
32 env = last debuff at rr5

Its a pretty good cb spec but cb is pretty gimped. Casters and other light armoured classes go down pretty well but dont even think about attacking heavy tanks, infils are also very very hard.
Anyways.. dont spec cb until you have to, because its worse spec than 5spec or SZ
