I jumped to conclusions then, but I've never seen you post in here before and only a few days ago you said you didn't care and I'm pissed off (again) at being called a football hooligan (again).

Perhaps I will go and get pissed and smash some stuff up, that way we can all feel better!

It is really tempting right now I must admit. :p

Aye, and you know I'm a stroppy little fuck who will react when provoked whether intentionally or not and I'm especially sensitive on the subject of football hooliganism.

I'd rather talk about the football now or I'm going to end up getting banned.

Shit happens. Ref made a very bad decision but it wasn't the first and it won't be the last. Secondly, they all knew about the pen spot. Owen admitted it in his interview. At the end of the day we know who the winner was but I have to say that was the worst performance by the England midfield I have seen. You were not the better team by far.

We didn't deserve to win, but we should have, unless the Portuguese would've nicked a late goal in the last 2 minutes which would be highly unlikely.

Oh and you can keep that Hanson ****. He shat his St. George cross boxers when Portugal equalised.

Beckham's penalty would have been perfect had he not have churned up the grass to the left of the spot and moved the ball a bit as he struck the shot. As mank said in another thread it would have been interesting if Portugal took the 1st penalty rather than England.

I hate to say it but I had a feeling Urs Maier would fuck us over right from the start of the match (nothing to do with him being of Swiss origin) but that dyed blonde goatee he was sporting.

Rooney going off screwed our shape up, Owen is not a player who has the ability to drop deep and link up with the midfield, but I give him great credit for trying.

4-5 of the Portugese players were lucky not to get Yellows. Costinha (persistant infringement, although he did eventually get one), Ronaldo (Simulation) and Nuno Gomez (Simulation again) are just 3.

In the shoot-out David James didn't really have a chance with any of them except Postiga's dinked effort. Ricardo's winner was nicely finished. Vassell's penalty was so shit Ricardo didn't even wear his gloves when facing him.

Oh well roll on Germany 2006

Then we can beat the Germans on penalties in their own backyard, huzzah!

Defoe? Please, overrated. Vassell had a good tournament, and he had the balls to take a penalty despite not being a regular pen taker at the Villa. His tireless running and close control led to the free kick in the 90th minute which led to the disallowed goal.

Yep. I don't hold anything against Vassell over the missed pen, poor bastard deserved to score it. He worked so hard in the tournament, would've loved to have seen him be the one to take us through to the semi-final. I just hope he doesn't blame himself for us going out.

I was referring to the World Cup in 2006. Defoe is pretty much guarenteed a place with Heskey moving to Birmingham and probably becoming even shitter than he is now (barring any nasty injuries)

I'm hoping Jenas gets a regular spot, somewhere. He looks really good from the few times I've seen him.

Judging by the fact he was crying after the game, I do wonder if he does.
