Just hit 21 a few days ago...

I was all excited and happy... strip joints, mega gambling, drive a rental car, all these exciting things i can do now...

But then... somebody went and got me a card... and it says

"21 Years since you were born
5 Years since you were 16
3 years since you were 18
But most important of all...
Only 9 years until you are 30"

Damnit im scared!! Have i just got the blues because of this card or do all you 21+ year olds feel old!?!

Are we getting on to being past it? or is there plenty still to be done??
Why has my hair started to go grey when im only 21!?! is it a sign... should i settle down? get a job stacking shelves?

I like to think of myself as Twenty Oneteen but it does not help!!

Im off to uni in september but now im worried that its all going to be crazy... most of my friends will be my little sisters age... 18... how the hell am i going to survive with all my wrinkles and joint pains coming on!?!

Any 30 year olds out there!? Can you still go out and have a good time?

How quickly does the time seemd to have passed between 21 and 30??

/cry

Many happy returns on hitting 21.

What on earth are you worried about ? LOL

21. Still a baby. I was a teenager when you were still in liquid form in your Dad's scrotum.

Wait till you're in your mid-30s and you've got 40 to look forward to with the "middle aged tag".

Strange question. Of course you can. Life doesn´t freeze and stop when you hit a certain age. It all depends on yourself though. Don´t let your age control your life.

How quickly does the time seemd to have passed between 21 and 30??

Not that quickly. It´s a period of life where many things are happening and changing, so the subjective impression of the time is still quite slow. As soon as your life starts to be standardized and following certain fixed patterns, your mind switches to fast forward mode, which creates a different impression of time.
So rule of thumb: if you want to have "more" from your lifetime, avoid repetitive things. :)

Well, good stuff, i feel a lot better! Ta All you oldies!! :D

Hm yes i get the avoide repetitive things... which i worked out in the last year actually, hence my going back to uni after being out of education for so long...

Cant wait to get my dream job in 3/4 years time and hoipefully that will be the way my time will progress slowly and i will enjoy myself.. if i carry on in this job i would slowly melt away into a sales-bot-of-boredom!

Funny how people react to being a year older.

Its all bollocks really. Its not like you're suddenly going to start wearing slippers and smoking a pipe the instant you turn 40 is it ?

I have started getting that feeling of "shit im almost 30!" now when im about to hit 27, but its no big deal really. Just wish i had acomplished more during my life so far, so its more regret than a fear of getting to some arbitrary age category. As long as you keep reasonably healthy with regular sports, somewhat healthy food and not much of poisons such as alcohol and nicotine your body will stay young for a good long time. Hell my father thats 54 runs or bikes almost every day and has a stronger physique than most 20 year olds. A Karate teacher i once had was 55 and could drop into a full split, kick me in the head with full balance and control, and was strong as an ox. Marathon runners are at their strongest in their 30's. There have been people aged 50+ on the top of Mount Everest. As long as you take care of your body you will be young as long as you want.

its never about how old you are, its how old you feel, and by your words, it sounds like your well over 50 or something :D

anyways "age" in numbers has nothing to do with how you feel or should feel, its simply a made up word we humans like to use about almost everything really

just loosen up and stop thinking in ages for crying out loud :D
