I have seen all the new PSU are 24pins. Is it possible to connect them to my 20pin motherboard?

Anyone have any idea?

I have seen both 20+4 pin and 24pin, what is the difference?

apparently it is supposed to work

24 pin is just a 20 pin + 4 new pins.
That leads me to believe that 20+4 pin is 20 pins and the 4 extra pins removeable while 24pin is 24 static pins.

You can generally disconnect the extra 4 pins, the connector normally just clicks together.

The extra 4 pins are for 240VAC straight in.

Trust me. ;)

Yea, this made for an amusing "oh shit!" moment when I replaced a PSU recently.

The 4 pin bit clips onto the other part now. Captain Planet style...
