Recently bought myself another account, for buffbotting. Found out that it ran pretty "alright" on my low end computer, altho there were small "lag spikes". Im planning on doing an upgrade soon... (when I get paid) But meanwhile I need to optimize the 2 daoc instances so that they run smoother.
on acc1 I have normal options(no precache) and 1024*768 resolution (cant play without)
on acc2 I use 800*600, everything on OFF or LOW. (no precache)
Anything more I can do to make it run smoother? Besides upgrading hardware... modifying windows or daoc and whatnot

specs:
XP2000+
512 MB SDRAM
Geforce 2 PRO 64 MB DDR
WIN2k

thanks for any help

Dont think theres much you can do other than upgrade. The only thing that might help is really limiting what other apps you have running in the background like firewall, anti-virus, system tasks etc. But limiting these can also make your system unstable, or open to hacking, so beware.

Consider keeping bits from upgrade.

Stuff is cheap to buy now. Read my posting under 'Running two accounts...'. Instead of upgrading and removing bits which will then be wasted consider using such bits to build another base unit. You will be amazed how well 2 daoc accounts can run if you network them.
