I've run lans before, and basically unless some company bank rolls it as soon as it gets above 50 maybe 100 people it will be shit.

Things to consider.
1. Network Kit/Topology
2. Servers
3. Power.
4. Tables.
5. Chairs

Cheap venue's like schools etc are just not cut out to host this sort of thing. To do it properly, it will cost.

Given the turnout for the Barrybeer, I don't expect we'll get more than 30-40 people anyway. Even then, the logistics of the power/switches does scare me a little bit.
