This was a Danish series on the BBC about the Second Schleswig War.

Found it quite interesting to be honest, it seemed to portray the politicians as extremely strange and deluded, whilst it portrayed the Army (including the Generals & a majority of the officers) in a positive light.

I know we have some Danes here, so I was wondering; Is this war common knowledge and is this series reflective of peoples attitudes towards it? - Or is it because it was created in the era of 'Social History' where all rich people are evil?

Yeah, I just looked at that wiki page.

It's well made, but its quite a-typical modern programming - make the gentry look evil.

Although I'm not entirely sure on the battles and such.

Yeah. It's the modern programming that is.

The poor bankers from nowadays, the fat cats, the billionaires and their tax havens. Will nobody think of how history will look back on them? Poor buggers. :(

Watched two or three episodes and thought it was pretty dull tbh. The history is so interesting and I was thoroughly let down. Been to all the sites etc and Ole Bornedal fucked it up

I thought it was a 19th century attempt at doing Pearl Harbour, which of course, the love story was a resounding success:rolleyes:.

Would have been far better if they didn't spend so long building up THE love story, rather get the stories from the soldiers they met in a bit more detail - Band of Brothers style.

Worst thing is the amount of cash he spent, and in the first episode you have our brave soldiers raping a cow...
