176 dmg in Thid?

After being charged by a couple of mids I manged to mezz one, only to be hit for 176 damage with a normal melle attack!! OK, a lone mage shouldn't wander around in dangerous teritory. But surely 176 damage shouldn't come from a meele attack even if they are a tank.

Sounds reasonable to me. How much do mages do on everyone? I know my SM out damages my SB even a couple of levels lower. Wearing such poor armour is the price casters pay for their damage/effectiveness.

heheh, all i know is that with my vast amount of darkness falls items, lvl 30+ and 40+ quest items and various 30+ drops i'm having a higher damage coming from my bow at lvl 23 than my eldritch with his bolts at that lvl even with pure void spec can't grumble at critting a yellow con kobold for 378 damage

just like to add, that 378 damage was from a crit off of my lvl 30 epic bow (someone gave me one at lvl 21)...

i'm not tellin' what my meelee damage hit's like

Charonel , you'd probably do more damage with a yellow con crafted bow for your level . the bow's damage you are using will be well capped .

you'd think so, so did i until i tested it, i have a yellow con crafted great recurve already, i tested it against the epic one when xping to see which one i'd like to use, it turned out that teh stat boosts and things on teh epic one made the difference because i seem to do more damage with it, might try to get an orange con crafted recurve and check with that though, other one was a great recurve, a bit slow for my liking but does good damage, the epic one is a recurve, faster and in this case does better damage anyway

scouts are scary, i got critted by one for almost my entire health bar... then he shot me again for the same amount and i realised that it hadnt been a crit ((((((

he didnt crit me twice because the second time i was running at him with my toothpicks out

not exactly sure how many but last level it was something like just over 300ish, i'll go in game and check, then post the correct amount, but i'm lvl 24 now, was lvl 23 when i got hit, but since the scout was yellow i dont think it matters since lvl 24's appeared as orange then.

at a guess i'd think i probably have something getting along to 340ish, roughly.

Charonel, if you get hit by a scout, then don't run towards him, shoot him instead. Hunters and rangers draw faster than scouts, so this way you'll be continually interrupting him and he won't get a single shot off. His only real choice is to engage you, THEN you can choose which direction to run

i remember him my lvl 22 scout almost oneshotted him second arrow he was dead

Scout dmg is a bit silly i cap at 420 at lvl 22 but my bow is a bit higher then my lvl so dps is clamped meaning that at lvl 24 cap should be alot higher

420 dmg would kill myself in 1 hit atleast

Oddly enough a level 50 hunter crits me (at 50) for about 350 damage tops... less than BG damage. This game is weird.

I left excal because it (well Albion at the least) sucks.
As for having a caster in your guild, um, I did? The only guild I had a hib caster in was AoW on prydwen...
When I quit exc I went directly to alb/pryd and into SotL. I have been considering rerolling an eldritch though...

As for gimped, the 350 crits I recall have been off the like of blood and tesla, not exactly gimped people...
Along these lines:
Blood shoots you with his bow!
You are hit for 3xx damage!
Blood shoots you with his bow!
You are hit for 13x damage!
Blood shoots you with his bow!
You are hit for 16x damage!

Last I checked blood wasn't particularly gimped, given he uses a 100% crafted bow

ah, my mistake, someone made an eldrtich called danara in our guild, you've probably got a stalker mate

hehe, if they're not gimped you must have some nice resists or something, you stocked up on slash% ? we dont have any high damage non slash arrows yet, you can use the thrust one's but they're not the same power as the slash one's just using thrust, they're a low power version but we'll be getting high power versions of all three types (slash, thrust, crush) so i'm gonna have some fun using hi-dam thrust arrows on all those chain wearing thanes

My Scout is doing a scary amount of Damage in the BG at the moment, at lvl24 i am using the lvl25 Epic Bow with my stats at LB24+5.

Damn good fun, apart from when i run into a nasty SB.

And i got about 560 HP I think, Its called being twinked, and having full set of DF armour and items, I could run round with glowing swords but I know all about effective DPS thats why I only use 100 Quality Swords

My favourite part is stalking you mid and hib caster types, you guys just walk around never knowing that an arrow is only 4s away, then seeing the panic of your group as you hit the floor and i am already restealthed picking my next target.

But you SB are nasty i tell you, because it is at that point when i make a good kil that i become the hunted, and it is heart pounding stuff when i catch a glimpse of you stealthed, and i know the hurt is coming.
