7:45 we are all ready , i'm in bw channel post comes in 8:05 games about 30 mins late map has changed to village we think np we are patient.

8:10 3 of our lot are in the server ready, then all of a sudden we have a clone in the server using one of our players nick. I get told in roger wilco something is wrong.

8:15 the admin says we have 15 mins to get in or its a default, meanwhile the rest of our team are waiting on my orders not to go in until the admin sorts the clone player out (which he does not)

8:25 the admin gives the other team a default win (while the clone player still exists)

we try and get ip of the other player who fked our game up but this cannot be given out according to hax??? (wtf) so poor old [SoF]Norman will never know who it was, don't you think he has a right to know ?

the admin has allready made his mind up that it was our fault we lost cos we never had our full team in the server.

ok. some points i would like to make that is so fkin annoying.

why don't you change the passwords every week, anyone in the fkin #bwrtcwl channel can get em.

oh! and Haxor never threaten me again ! i don't believe its in barryworlds ethics to threaten ppl in mirc channel for just pointing facts out, i mean ffs, next time i will rent a fkin server from someone else even if it is double the price.

We have accepted the fact we lost but sort the password and attitudes out, i mean ffs the password has been #bwrtcwl for ages now everyone in the uk knows it Duh!

erm, well it was bound to happen, same old password = spammers, so where does it say in the rules we have to go in a server while a clone player is in?, please point it out!
Did the admin actually know how to boot him? get his IP etc ?

Aye, if it wasnt for someone who sucessfully managed to screw up the game posing as me whilst i was in the server it might of happened.

I will speak to the other admins about seeing if we can change player password more often. There's bound to be a few people bent on trying to mess up other peoples fun.

In all fairness to the admin, (whom you shouldn't have named here) It wasnt the easyest of situations to sort out, it was one word against another.

Luckily this situation doesn't occur often and its unlikely we'll see it again. Ill try and get some crocrete rule's defined in the unlikly event it happens again.

OK few points

1) the clone will be banned at no point in time while i was waiting did you have more than 2 sof players in server so that would be a deffault any way.

2) clone will be delt with cant do it at the time


3) not fair on other team to wait 1 hour or so to get it all sorted

The decision is final so i will not have no more bitching in here the admin are here for your benefit we dont get payed to tolerate abuse so if i get any more bitching i will request for you to be kicked out of league.

It was a sad thing to happen. A was all ready to play, we were really looking forward to the game, them out of nothing some "clone" shows up and ruins the show.
Well i must say that it's hard to lose a game like this, but, i must also say the it's a hard time for the admin to make a call(being an admin my self in another league, i know it's a hard job).
Just hope that the "clone" is ban from all BW server, and that we get a chance to play a friendly with u guys.

Sticking my nose it where it probably isn't wanted... but having seen some of this on irc, would it not be a good idea to try and get another BWL person to try to sort this out amicably... as theres no point in both the original admin and the clan arguing as it's just leading to bad blood.

Last night there were obvious communication problems at times & delays, and this was probably to be expected with fewer admins around. Everyone (players, admins, etc.) seemed pretty fine with this however - Maybe SOF should have gone in game, but equally they may have just been waiting til the problems were sorted out and fwiw (not much !) I think they seem to have been dealt with pretty harshly.

Again, not taking sides, just that it would be good to sort this out in a friendly way for the leagues sake.


....and for the future, to both 'protect' admins (protect not being the right word) and teams, would it not be a good idea to have a method of dispute resolution ? Whilst I realise this isn't paid work and think that the admins do do a lot of work... I also have voluntary jobs and it is better where there are clear procedures just as in any other job.

...and lastly, thanks to the admins for last night's 'holiday' work

it's the admins decision if he wants to delay itlonger then that or if it goes beyond that time due to unforeseen things, in this case, had it been me adminning this game the issue with the clone wouldnt have happened, they would've gotten a default for not showing before it all happens.

get the full story before comment! so if the league match is posponed for 30mins by BW then we just sit tossing it off? i obviously aint read the rules. So we were expected to play a game with a clone player on our side? weres that written?
Plus it doesnt matter which way, they got there default we got ripped off by lame rules!

Ghost it's not Alliance fault, we were just sitting arround in the server doing nothing beside jumping over graves , so don't think you need to be that agressive to us. We did nothing, so keep us out. We were there to play, a "problem" shows up, witch we had nothing to do with, so not Alliance fault

if u had more then 4 players on the server u would prolly have had the chance to replay it, as it was, stated in the rules, any team without 5 or more players gets a default against em, and even with that clone, as i stated earlier u didnt have enough, and it isnt the admins bussiness if u pick a fight with someone and he decides to come over and bugger up your game now is it?

either way the admin team had nothing to do with u not being able to play, it is the clans responsibilty to get the players on the server, not ours.

Well, I have to say, I find your language and attitude towards this matter very infantile to say the least WFJuNkY . [SoF] obviously had a problem which was beyond their control and this should have been sorted out by the admin. I suggest you apologise to both clans and do your job properly instead of trying to cause trouble. It may have passed you by, but [SoF] have never defaulted a game up to now, surely this counts for something?

this sounds to me like a dig at ALL admins. All admins are not like the above so pls dont generalise as you are bringing the name down of those admins that have done nothing wrong.

i won't go into a big long winded discussion about how admins give there time up for free, etc etc. i appreciate all they do and don't want to spend all night writing about them.

Again speaking as hopefully someone independent, This has clearly got out of hand and imho needs an admin to sort it out rationally.

I left my BWL clan last week (though am still playing to make up the numbers til they recruit more players) but with some of the posts by admins on this thread, I'm glad I'm out of the league now... which is a pity as the games themselves have been fun.

Before anyone says it, this isn't admin-bashing - both myself and my (ex) clan have *always* been respectful to the admins (who have always done a 'splendid' job) and also been friendly to other clans ...and this has also been the attitude of the *vast* majority of other players. Now I don't know either whether SOF were using a clone as a delying tactic as an admin suggests, I don't know if SOF are lying through their teeth... but they seem to have brought valid arguments here and rather than being challenged, it it they who seem to have been the subject of abuse.

As the original poster brought detailed problems to a public forum, I would expect the admins to either discuss or challenge the timescales originally stated as merely quoting from the rule book doesn't make sense in this case where the matches were all subject to lengthy delays.
If this isn't true:

...then presumably admins will have evidence to back it up... Stating this rather than the attitude shown will you do you a lot more credit that lowering yourselves to a slanging match.

I do voluntary work too and whilst my patience is also (severely!) tested, I would hope I could not get away with sounding as arrogant as some of the posts above seem to convey.

Whilst I'm sure that everyone appreciates the work that the admins put in to making the league possible, some of the posts on this thread have done you no credit at all in my most humble of opinions.

if you ask the other clan who was in our mirc channel they would confirm we had a full team waiting.
