1080i v 1080p

hi guys im a little confused about the difference between these two,which gives the better picture?

i stands for Italy where the standard is 1080i and the p stand for Peru where they have a higher standard of eyes so can see the better picture.

1080p gives the better picture as all 1080 vertical lines are refreshed with every frame. With 1080i, only every other vertical line is refreshed, with the other half refreshed the next frame.

However, it should be noted that most people can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p when they're sat a few feet away from the screen, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

(Apocolypto being played through Blu-Ray at 1080p almost made me cry it was so good)

preety sure most scalers built into tvs over the past 2 years convert interlaced signals to progressive signals any ways.
