yes, I have it on atm, because imo it's pointless to run at full clip just to browse the web and stuffs.

600Mhz for free eh. I'm semi convinced that it can go further, but I'm not that pressed to find out. I'm not after the last 3% I can get out of it, whereas an insta-25% jump is indeed worth the effort tbh :)
Exactly: mine went to 3Ghz as soon as I had Windows installed, but I cant be bothered messing around to see if 3.1/3.2/whatever will work perfectly or not either.

Panda: Sure, why wouldnt you want to use it? Clocking things down a bit (and reducing the voltage through the CPU) when its doing nothing makes sense to me. Do your bit for global warming and save a whole 1 watt or whatever it is :D

What did you do with your memory settings btw? What speed is it running at now?
Bit of an OC noob here and I'm not sure how memory copes with the speed increase.
(My temporary DDR2 667 running at 400 instead of 333 I mean)

nothing really: I just set my ram to what it said on the box. you can always go faster later. the important thing was to get the ram on the right voltage. my Gigabyte mobo has strange settings for setting ram voltages: there is only "Auto", then "Auto+0.1V", 0.2V, etc.
Checking the Health page in the BIOS showed me that "Auto" means 1.8V for this particular ram, so I set my ram to "Auto+0.4" because my ram is rated at 2.2V when running at 533MHz (1066 eh)

Without the ram on 2.2V, the computer wouldn't start up at all. What I did to get the ram's speed back to "1066" was to set the multiplier for that to 3.2X, thus my FSB was 333, and 333x3.2=1065,5 or something close enough. However, CPUZ thinks that it's running at 1333 instead of 1066, but no matter :)

Seems the Asus boards don't have the easiest RAM multiplier settings.
I'll have to play with the FSB strap to Northbridge settings to enable different RAM speeds :eek7:
