I am not too sure with windows 98 but i do know that windows xp makes full use of large amounts of ram. Also when you are running two accounts make sure you have two folder directories and one running from each.

windows 98 cant use more than 768mb ram (even with that becomes incredibly unstable) i would suggest it is time to upgrade to win2k at least :)

I saw W98 SE working with gig ram, BUT the whole system was slower than with 512 Megs. I'd strongly advise moving to XP/2000 system...

And... when you get new system (if you do), keep it updated (XP SP2 + updates for example)!

Win98SE can use 1Gb (or more), but not by default. You need to tweak around with the windows settings. (Search around the MS help pages, there's one page that explains what to do and how to set it.)

Better to just move to XP or 2K. :)

hmmm... don't know bout sp2 though, but the rest of the updates.. most definately
SP2 only gave me problems here... blue screens, lock-ups... Even windows explorer locked up on me when accessing large folders...

Didnt notice any difference in performance running dual log from different folder btw shanes.

Maybe my comp can handle it. but its same like slower ports and stuff but no lag whatever I do
