Bug fixes and User Setting Changes!

===================================

Dark Age of Camelot
Test Version 1.88k Release Notes
User Setting Changes
April 5, 2007

===================================

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- At the urging and subsidization of their Kings, Stable Masters and Dockmasters everwhere have banded together to help out their realms by foregoing any sort of payment for their services. Players will find that all horse routes and boat routes (outside of New Frontiers) will now be free.

- Players may now command their pets to attack stealthed characters who are within their stealth detection range. Pets will still stop the chase if an unstealthed character stealths in order to escape.

- Reactive procs on armor will now only hit the archer if the archer is within range.

- The Arrow Recovery bonus has been converted to Arcane Siphon on all items.

- Arcane Siphon now works with endurance and hit point cost spells.

- The Delve information for Arcane Siphon has been updated to reflect that it no longer just affects spells.

- The feedback for Arcane Siphon has been updated to reflect that players are not gathering arcane energies, but rather just energy.

- Players can no longer equip Mythirian items without having them bind to the character.

NEW FRONTIERS NOTES

- The Hibernian version of the Cloak of the Arch Etheralist will no longer hold an emblem.

TRIALS OF ATLANTIS WORLD NOTES

Item Notes

- All versions of Laodameia's Bow now have the 'Eye of Predation' proc. This fixes an issue in which one of the bows still erroneously had the arrow-summoning ability.

USER SETTINGS CHANGES

Character Files

Players who do not have their old user files in their root directory will have their settings cleared. This means characters which have been logged in since 1.88 went live will lose keyboard settings, hot bar setups, screen resolution settings, etc. If a player wishes to save their settings, they will need to log in, log out, and then copy and paste their files from the old directory to the new one. Anything since the 1.88 live patch will be lost. In other words, if the character hasn’t logged in since 1.88 went live, this will not effect them at all. Character by character basis.

Detailed instructions:

When logging into the game after this patch, you may not see the most recent changes to your UI/Keyboard/hotbar settings. If you wish to recover these settings please follow the below steps.

*Note: You will need to be able to see hidden system files and folders to complete these steps.

1. Log into the game. You do not need to enter the game, just launch the client and go to character select. This will allow the client to create the new file structure.

2. Exit the game and close the game client.

3. Navigate to the folder where your settings were previously saved. This could be in one of the following folders depending on your operating system or where you installed the game.

Windows XP, Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition Users:

C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataElectronic ArtsDark Age of Camelot

Vista Users:

C:UsersAppDataRoamingelectronic ArtsDark Age of Camelot

4. Select the user.dat and any character *.ini files in that folder and copy them to the new client folder that was just created.

This folder will depend on your operating system and the version of the game client that you are using and where you installed the game. For example:

Windows XP, Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition:

C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataElectronic ArtsDark Age of Camelot[LotM or TOA or etc.]

Vista:

C:UsersAppDataRoamingelectronic ArtsDark Age of Camelot[LotM or TOA or etc.]

5. Close all folders and login to the game. Your User settings will be imported.

Running Multiple Clients on all supported Operating Systems

To further assist users who want to run multiple clients and have different settings for each:

The Windows compatibility path for settings files (user.dat and character .ini and .ign files) have been changed from:

[AppData]Electronic ArtsDark Age of Camelot to

[AppData]Electronic ArtsDark Age of Camelot[Client Version] for live versions -or-
[AppData]Electronic ArtsDark Age of CamelotTest[Client Version] for test versions (Camtest.exe)

For Vista:

[AppData] = AppDataRoaming

For XP and earlier Operating Systems that we support:

[AppData] = Application Data

ToA, Catacombs, DR and LotM are current Client Version names. Other client versions are not in use.

If an unknown or unlisted client version is in use, configuration will default to a directory formed similarly, but without the Client Version section.

Players should copy their user.dat and any character *.ini files to the appropriate folder.

Configuration files will be re-copied from the base game directory. They will NOT be copied from the former [AppData] directory. This will cause changes that are saved in the settings files made over the last few weeks since the original client change to be lost.

An override folder name to use instead of [Client Version] may be specified by creating paths.dat in the game directory, and adding a line for ‘settings=[folder name]’ under the [paths] section header.

Running two instances of the same client with different user settings

Now that the user.dat file, the character .ini, and .ign files all are saved in the same client folder, users will have the same settings for two instances of the same client. There is a work around for those players who would like to run two instances of the same client with different user settings. Instructions follow:

1. Create a paths.dat folder, using a text editor such as notepad, in your game’s root directory (the directory where the game’s executable file exists).

2. In the file put the following:

[paths]
settings=Config1

3. Login to your first client

4. Edit paths.dat to the following

[paths]
settings=Config2

5. Login to your second client.

Now your two clients will use different paths to read and write to user.dat and all the character .ini and .ign files for the duration of the time that these instances stay opened.

Note: You will need to repeat this process each time you want to launch two instances of the same client with different user settings. The client will always use the folder name that is currently set in paths.dat prior to launching.

There is currently an arrow recovery mythrian with values set at 30, 50 and 70%

So thats a 70% chance not to use any power when casting....

I assume there is some mistake?

I think it's saying there is no more Arrow Recovery, on items at least. It has been changed to Arcane Siphon.

Code:
- Arcane Siphon now works with endurance and [B]hit point cost spells[/B].

Apart from savages, what other classes use spells that cost hit points?

I can't see who this change applies to.

Well savages can't activate jacinas so, my question stands... Who does this affect?

But all arrow recovery items now have arcane siphon instead. Savages can use studded armour the same as hunters so it will affect them.
