Artifact Adjustments

- In order to ease some of the frustrations in finding monsters of the appropriate level and difficulty, all artifacts will now use one of six leveling requirements. Artifacts will be assigned to one of the following regions: mainland outdoors, mainland dungeons, Shrouded Isles outdoors, Shrouded Isles dungeons, Trials of Atlantis outdoors, or Trials of Atlantis dungeons. In addition, all artifacts can now earn experience from player versus player kills and from killing monsters in the Frontier zones (including Darkness Falls, Passage of Conflict, and Summoner's Hall).

Petitions achieve fuck all - and anyway its far too big a change for a simple 'hot fix'

Nice change, but by then (early 2005 for Euro servers I assume) its far too late anyway.

doubt it'll be that far away barring force majeure ;)

though it entirely depends on when the yanks get it - it's usually 2 months or so after they do.

Actually I don't like this change, I liked the fact artifacts levelled on different things (which were often related to the story of the artifact itself), and some were hard to get to level 10. This is just another sop to the group who want everything easy (same as the free levels, /level, watering down of ML encounters).

I have to agree with Javai here..
ML's and artifacts should be hard to get and hard to level :D

Screw that. Its hard enough getting the damned artis and scrolls, let alone having to devote your life to leveling the bloody things. Not everyone has the time to level artis, where are those guys left? Thats right, sitting at the bottom of the gimped pile with nothing to do but eat dirt.

Good change imo.

I liked the different artifacts levelling on different things - what I don't like is that I have to solo my Kalare's necklace. I have to solo my Alvarus leggings or I have to organise an olde-style twees group with some mid-40s people.

Belt of the Sun/Moon are good artifacts with sensible levelling requirements
GSV/Mariasha's Sharkskin Gloves/Nailah's Robe/Alvarus Leggings/Malice's Axe/Jacina's Sash are artifacts with horrible levelling requirements.

I liked that things were different but it was obviously easier for them to balance things by making it a much simpler system rather than fixing the overly hideous ones.

Think the reason they have all the "making things easy" stuff is to encourage people to move realms and fix the population imbalance. I've sent feedback asking for a /nofreexp or whatever so you can level properly if you want to ;) (not that I'd use it mind you as I'm fundamentally lazy, but I know people that refuse to /level)

You're talking yanks here - if it take smore than half a brain and two buttons they consider it too much of a challenge.

Why do you think we get such stupid patch decisions?

Agree also

However, thier difficulty in leveling should be based on the usefullness of the artifact.

Eg: ok ones level faster, ace ones level slower.

Owners of nailahs that dont have them leveled will be pleased but those that do have it leveld would be a bit cheesed off I suspect.

lol it was the yanks that actually did these encounters that we all take for granted (Addmitedly with assiststence I suspect) these days people just say " Good read VOS" well, when the yanks did this they didnt have a VOS..

So before we completely deride the yanks for being idiots give them a little credit.
