1.71 or new servers?

Hi all at GOA,

i was wondering if you could tell us the status of the testing with 1.71 at the moment? - does it cure the problems being experienced in TOA as you are expecting it to? Can you please also confirm that you will have tested the new patch on doing something like ml4.2?

Once again we had mass LD's in TOA, whilst attempting to complete ML4.2 - fortress of Storms. (about 70 Albs on it at once).

If the patch is not going to be available for a while, can i suggest you look at the following website -

Select the DL360 as the machine of choice, and then configure a Dual 3.6Ghz with 2Gbram - only costs around £3700 (you will get it cheaper as well with discounts) This may cure the communities mass LD problems in TOA.

I'd assume that Stygia/Aerus/Volcanus/Oceanus run in a server cluster. Then again i may be wrong *shrug* Or then they have only one segment of cluster dedicated for TOA, one for SI, one for Classic and bit more for NF. That'd suck though

I think youll find their current kit puts that to shame, and yes I beleive the next patch will put a lot of problems right.

TOA suffers from server lag, not network lag.. so OT cant do anything about that.

oh well looks like u havnt fixed the problem with 1.71 - so when are the new servers arriving?

dont give me this crap about sending in tracerts etc, i sent a couple in only to get a response saying to update my Display drivers - and i get ld's on 2 totally different machines!!!!

a response from the nice ppl at GOA would be good

What we had before 1.71 in TOA was Server lag (where the network is fine, but the server itself is slow - all lights green on performance monitor, but slow).

Now we're back to old fashioned network lag.
