1.65i Version Release Notes

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- The information button in the class trainers window was not working correctly. It displayed all styles and abilities as being rewarded at one level higher than it was supposed to. This also meant that level 50 styles rolled over to level 1. This bug has been fixed.

- As a result of the changes to player resists, all players who had previously purchased the realm ability Brilliant Aura of Deflection have had the ability removed and the cost refunded.

- As a result of the changes to player resists, all players who had previously purchased the realm ability Avoidance of Magic have had all levels of the ability removed and the cost refunded.

- Single line respecs have been granted for Savages, Cabalists, Enchanters, Runemasters and Spiritmasters.

- Resists for Physical and Essence damage types are no longer displayed. (Pendragon only)

- A bug which prevented players from removing beneficial effects such as buffs has been fixed. (Pendragon only)

- Svasud Faste, Mjollner Faste, and Fensalir Faste will now allow broadcasts and announce when you have entered the region properly. (Pendragon only fix)



CLASS UPDATES


Wizard

- Volcanic Pillar’s radius has been changed from 700 to 500 to bring the ability more in line with the original intent of the design.



CLASSIC CAMELOT WORLD NOTES


Frontier Keeps

- Players can no longer climb up two of the climb points at Dun Crimthainn. They have been blocked in order to give Crimthainn four climb points like all of the other frontier keeps.


Item notes

- The items with weapon speeds slower than 5.5 that have been restricted to non-savages have had their names modified so that they can be differentiated from the versions that are not restricted. The new versions of the "Mourning Rage", "Dull Asterite Great Sword", "Brittle-bone Great Axe", "Dragon-shadow Great Axe" and "Dragon-shadow Great Hammer" are named "Mourning Fury", "Lusterless Asterite Great Sword", "Bone-shard Great Axe", "Wurm-shadow Great Axe" and "Wurm-shadow Great Hammer" respectively.



FOUNDATIONS NOTES


- The merchants that sold rent tokens for bounty points have been removed. (They are obsolete)

heh heh first in a long line of nerfs to wizzards using that volcanic pillar next patch radius reduced to 300 then 100 :)

i am a bit pissed (i know should have been far earlier but liver is failing) but does this mean they are removing aom completely ? if so great frees up points 4 me

Would have been nice to get a free RA respec to all who can spec these.

i think both AoM and BAoD have been removed from game, to mnake things better for casters.

In lastest 'ability to read' news, research teams at several top universities have concluded that nowhere in these patch notes is it suggested that BAoD or AoM have been removed from the game. Film at eleven.

;)

They are getting refunded because they are now multiplicative instead of additive - you can buy them again if you want.

Is it being removed or resists modified? The test patch notes do not mention removal. I am not sure how the 1.65 resists system will work then maybe the modifications are such that people will reconsider whether to have the RAs or not hence the reason for the partial respec (similar to See Hidden changes). Perhaps some enlightened person can tell us what is happening (Like the above :rolleyes: ).

Care to elaborate on how it is multiplicative?

Resists from RAs are now multiplicative with item resists instead of additive.

So...

today 26% from items + 35% from BAoD = 61% resist.

In future (1 - 26%) x (1 - 35%) = 52% resist.

edited my post above, because the multiplicative example is actually 52% resist (1 - 48%).

what about 26% items 24% buff 5% racial 6% aom 35% baod (96% atm)
how much will it be in 1.65? :rolleyes:

Notes are unclear but suggest that 2 categories now exist, RA & other, resists remain additive within categories. So...

Non RA resist = 26 + 24 + 5 = 55 %

RA Resist = 35 + 6 = 41%

Total resistance =

1 - (1 - 55%) x (1 - 41%) = 73.45 %

So in this (quite extreme) example, casters will hit you for over 6 times the damage they do today; but 6 times almost nothing is naturally still a small number ;)

So lets see if i get this right

Currently a 100 damage fire damage spell would hit me with AoM2 (so 32% resist) for 68

Under the new system it would be

1-(1-26%=74%) *(1-6%=94%) = 0.29% so I get nuked for 71

Having just AoM1 would mean 0.28% heat resist (1- (1-26%=94%)*(1-3%=97%)) so 72 hit

Can see why they are giving RSP back

They should've left AoM additive and made the resist buffs and BAoD multiplicative.

That way resist buffs and BAoD wouldn't fuck casters up as badly as currently, but AoM would still have a use.

Um. It's an AoE DD, meaning that the effects are instant so it can't "stack".

while gp is not that great in standard rvr, it can be in large scale keep battles/relic raids.
some coordinated vp's and voila most of the attackerzerg dead ;p
