players who have gained Realm levels and ranks will notice that their character is affected by buffs from items and spells more than before.

For people who are a little slow....

This patch does not change the effectiveness-cap of stats. i.e. STR over 300 still won't do a f'ing thing.

The patch increases the amounts of bonuses you can gain from items, thus actually narrowing the gap between people with and without buffbots.

i.e.
Previously an unbuffed RR5 Scout had 200 Dex before, whereas a buffed one had 325, which was capped at 300 for effectiveness. So the buffed guy was 100 dex better off.

Now the unbuffed RR5 Scout can have 250 Dex, say. Whereas the buffed one has 450, which is capped at 300 for effectiveness. So the buffed guy is 50 dex better off.

(Numbers made up as we have nothing concrete yet)

They correctly use the term 'buff' to mean 'increase' - coming from whatever source (actually say from items and spells).

(Anyway, I may be completely wrong with my interpretation... And even if I'm not, stats like QUI which can't reach 300 will see a small increase in the gap from buffs, etc.)

Now this means that stealthers can now achieve 300 str without investing lots in aug str?

Cool :D

The other thing is all the crying from people over their 25 plat spent on overcharged MP SC suits.

They spent all that cash and time farming items etc in order to cap everything possible. Their suits NEEDED to be 37/32 overcharges in order to reach those caps. Now there are higher caps so they have to redo everything...

Okay, so what can they redo? By their own reasoning they would NEED to overcharge everything to 42/32 in order to reach the caps. i.e. they cannot cap everything anymore, so they wouldn't gain anything from redoing everything.

Anyway, if they actually stopped and looked at the thing they would realise that they actually just want (for example) extra QUI and extra CON, and would have to sacrifice something to get it... So they would swap out 1 matter resist gem (or whatever) for 1 +CON gem, and 1 spirit resist gem for 1 QUI gem and be done. Only replacing 1 or 2 items...

Anyways... Patch is buggy... watch for update later...

The only reason I might want 300 str is to carry a ram + 400 extra wood :p

(silly gimpy slash rogues :p )

Update on the new patch after reading on vnboards:

RR4 cleric recieved +78(he didnt have more on him) from items, but item bonuses are bugged atm, they are working on it.

RR4 cleric recieved +65 from BASELINE str and con, both capped since the con is +44 base while the str is +50.

RR4l5 friar recieved +86 from self dex/qui

All in all the buffs are working perfect afaik.

Items DO NOT give any + to anything atm but as i said its a bug and they are working on it, its currently causing horror stories such as +0,5 to archer drawtimes and 400 hp nerfs.

There is also currently a diminishing returns system on having high stats, basics not found out yet but there is one.
