Version 1.53 Release Notes

======================================

You will see many changes in this version, most of which are designed to make our job easier, while making you not want to play the game even more. That's fine, because we'll get a new player base with Shrouded Isles.


NAMING SYSTEM CHANGE

- We have changed everyone's name in this version, to allow for no more bickering about our naming policy. From now on, everybody's name will be RlmXPlayerYYY, with X being your realm, which are now numbered, instead of named, based on previous alphabetical names (Albion is Rlm1, Hibernia is
Rlm2, Midgard is Rlm3) and YYY being a number assigned by Mythic. The numbers are assigned based on when your character was created, with lower numbers being characters created first. For example, if you were the 23rd player created on Midgard, your new name is Rlm3Player023.

Also, all guild names will follow the same format, GuildZZZ, with ZZZ being a number assigned by Mythic.


NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- We have deleted all the chat channels, to allow for no conversation between players of any realm, thus creating a more orderly playing environment.

- Paladins now have a new Realm Ability called Rocket Pack, which allows them to fly, and swoop down to bowl over enemy players.

- Due to increased Gang activity, Lurikeens, Kobolds, and Dwarfs may no longer carry weapons, and are not allowed out after sunset, unless accompanied by a parent.

- The Theurgist Siege Bolt has been replaced by a new Realm Ability, Throw Rocks, which allows them to throw rocks at any door. Additionally, rocks are now strewn on the ground near keep doors, to allow Theurgists to take advantage of this ability. No other player may touch these rocks. Any player caught touching rocks will have their account suspended, unless they are collecting them for a Theurgist alt, guildie, group, or alliance member.

- Floodlights have been added to Darkness Falls, because people were complaining that they couldn't see well down there. Additionally, waterfalls have been added randomly, because it was called "Falls", but there were no Falls. It is now renamed Bright Falls.

- Spellcrafting, Alchemy, and Housing are now shelved indefinitely, and Shrouded Isles is delayed by at least 6 months. Our Dev Team has been too busy playing characters to lvl 15 and then deleting them "to get a feel for what a Lvl 50 player thinks" so we have hired a new Dev Team to pick up their work, but they are way too busy working on Shrouded Isles to make any changes to the current game.

- We have added several new bug animations, because in our opinion, they are more important than adding any real content or bug fixes. The "Cloak On/Off=Arms Out" animation has been fixed so that the player doing the motions can now see himself with his arms out, and this animation has also been fixed so that characters with Staves can also participate. The NEW animations include: When you take off your pants, your character will put his hands down over his privates, in an attempt to cover up. There are several others, but we at Mythic decided to let you discover them for yourselves. Enjoy!

- Trolls can now receive chiropractic care, so that they walk upright, and Firbolg and Troll Females can now receive breast reduction surgery. This is all accomplished at the new Hospital in the capital cities. Breast enhancement and Sex change operations will be addressed in a later patch.

- All keep doors now have a doormat and a flowerpot, and a key to the keep is now kept either in the flowerpot, under the doormat, or on the doorsill. Enemy players can now try to find the key with the /key command. Use "/key pot" for the flowerpot, "/key mat" for the doormat, and "/key sill" for the doorsill. Each player can guess only once per hour, and the location changes randomly every time somebody guesses.


RVR NOTES

There has been much feedback about balance among player base. We at Mythic thank you wholeheartedly, and have decided to take actions to correct this.

After this patch, each realm will have EXACTLY the same amount of players of each level on at any given time. If your character is a Lvl 50 Theurgist in Rlm1 (formerly known as Albion), you may or may not log-in there. When you log in each day, the server will check your level and log you into the
realm that has the least amount of that level. Don't worry, you will still be a Theurgist, just playing on the side that has the least amount. Also, since this will occur every time anybody logs in, there will be a variation of only one player per realm, until they are all equal, then the server chooses randomly where to add the next player.

RESPEC

Respeccing has been revamped AGAIN. Since so many people have complained about our respec system, we have implemented the following: You now may respec as many times as you choose, but you only get one FREE respec. Every time you respec after that, you will lose one spec point from your total allotment.

Here's how it works:

Free Respec:

You can respec once for free, all your points will be given back to you.

Extra Respecs:

Let's say you are a character with 1536 total spec points. You spec the first time for free, but now are unhappy with your respec. You may respec again, but now you only have 1535 total spec points. Respec again, and you have 1534 total points to use....etc.

AS ALWAYS: If we ever make a class-defining change in the future, we will offer free single-spec respecs to those class/spec combinations that are affected by the change.


SPELL NOTES

- Since so many mez classes complained that they couldn't mez, we have changed the range and duration of all AE mez spells. Now all AE mez spells encompass the entire frontier zone, and last for 15 minutes. This should make for interesting RvR, because whoever gets the mez off first after
being ported wins the battle.

"Cure Mez" Spells

Cure mez spells will still work on these mezzes, but the range on Cure Mez has NOT been affected by these changes.


ART NOTES

- All mobs have been re-skinned to look alike. They all look like the Tomte now, because there was such good feedback about him.


DISPLAY ICON NOTES

The game's spell and skill icons have undergone another revision. This revision has taken its cues from player feedback and suggestions and should make using and identifying spells much easier and intuitive . We have removed the icons entirely, and have gone with a simple color scheme. The color is now the central determiner of what the spell does.

Red with Green Stripes - Direct Damage, Bolt, Poison and Disease spells (basically, anything that deals damage)

Green with Red Stripes - Buff / Enhancement spells

Blue with White Stripes - Heal spells

White with Blue Stripes - Debuff spells

Purple with Yellow Stripes - stun spells

Yellow with Purple Stripes - Mez, Charm, Confusion and Amnesia spells

Orange with Gold Stripes - Root and Snare spells

Gold with Orange Stripes - Resurrection spells


Widgets

Widgets have been removed, because our Dev Team couldn't understand them.


CRAFTING SYSTEM NOTES.

- Since Spellcrafting/Alchemy are indefinitely shelved, we have added alternative craft skills. These include Basket Weaving, Ice Sculpture (For Ice Spec Casters only), and Origami.

Thats soo true, he must have a theurg.:clap:
