respec will be awful i fear. Lots will change to what is considered the best build. Also, that threshold respecs will be exploited im sure, players will use templates that level fast and later change to a rvr class. Example ManaEldritch who tosses mana away at 40 and becomes a light eld or a void eld with leftovers to light. Same with assassin classes... i dont like the idea really. People will tread wichever path is the easiest and later change to the more powerful rvr class. I dont want to see characters turning 180 degrees once they hit 40. People consider Bubble to be a mezzer, who might well turn out to be a full body spec sorceress after the respec... mhhh. I dont know, i just dont feel it will be good.

And why should some people be best at PvE, but suck at PvP? I don't see the idea? .. why should only some people be the 'gods' of RvR? - why not us all, so we are equal? .. RvR shouldn't be won on people that forget, or wrongfully spec their chars, RvR should be won on teamwork and tactics, not because half of the other 'army' is wrongfully specced.
Some of us cant level to 50 in matter of seconds, so we cant 'just' make a new char from the beginning.

The respec is first of all here, to ensure that those who wrongfully spec their chars, etc. 'newbies' or people that chose wrong speclines, don't have to use all their spare time on level new chars all the time.

I salute the respec, and hope that it will be here soon, but with uke: GOA, whom knows

my main complaint here is the fact that long known friends will convert to totally different chars in a second. The Progress of growing your character into its later purpose is lost then.
Lots are complaining about chars who got powerleveld and dont know how to really play their class when it gets to rvr. this will become worse.
I agree its nice for people who specced matter as a sorc or the like. that will be really nice for them. Thats why i look forward to the general respec. But i dont think the threshold respec (thats what my post was about) will be a good addition. I think it will make a lot of chars turn into the same template... i like diversity, really and i guess the respec will turn all cabalists into matter specs... you get my point. Everyone will spec to the same tested and good template. thats bollocks.

what your totaly missing is the changes and the addionals and nerfing that has been done to the game. when ppl set out with their char. they looked at what they wanted from the options they had. since then the goal post have changed a lot and ppl should be allowed to respec so that these changes to the game can be taken into account. i take it your class is not one that has been hit with the bat or a spec line you chose not to go down has now had a few changes made to it makeing you want to spec that way but its to later in your game to do it.

Also i think loads of smite clerics are going to turn into healers or buff bots SM's are gunna be full spec Suppresion etc.

ok second time now: i detest the _threshold_ respecs, that will be allowed to every character once they hit level 20 or level 40.
I am totally ok with the total respec that every player will be granted ONCE on every EXISTING character. Thats totally fine and will cover the poor souls who specced wrong (i even used the sorcs matter spec as an example, please read my post...).
Why i detest the lvl 20 and lvl 40 respec i already explained.

EDIT: On a second thought, its the level 40 respec i really hate! lvl 20 respec would serve its purpose fine, to give new players who spec wrong a second chance. By level 20 you normally got all relevant spells/skills to determine wether you want to stick with your route or chose another. The level 40 one cries to be exploited... i forsee lots of slash infiltrators respec to thrust for the lvl 50 style and its 9 second stun.

The people who use the threshold repsec at 40 to change from a pve build to a pure RvR build are going to be in a bit of a fix, since leveling from 40-50 is a long long way ( well it has been for me anyway! ), and if a char throws all the reasons for getting grouped away at 40, then all your going to be is emain fodder for all the 50's for a very, very long time.

We can only wait and see what it does to the american servers, i know i would like the chance to alter my spec, but that was due to an uncontrolled spurt of i wonder if this would be of any use.......

Ya know then you can only use the fullrespec within 2 lvls, so ya can't say it. same with with the lvl 20 and 40 one line respecs. And if your over lvl 20 and 40 you wont get those single line respecs, just the full respec.
