Dark Age of Camelot

Test Version 1.51G Release Notes.

Wednesday, June 19, 2002

----------------------------------------

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- Berserkers can now eqiup thowing axes (this fixes a Pendragon only bug).

- 5th level players who want to join the House of Odin and become Runemasters now are able to. This fixes a Pendragon-only bug.

- Monsters who have a Confusion spell cast on them should no longer warp erratically.

- /GC AUTOREMOVE should now work properly. This command can be executed by guild leaders only. This command removes the specified player from a guild, even when he is not online.

- Group Purge now correctly checks all players affected by it, and if any player in the group has a negative effect removed, the caster's group purge timer is reset. Previously, there were situations where the caster could use group purge without the timer resetting.

MORDRED CHANGES

- We have removed Guild Alliances from Mordred. Please check out the Camelot Herald (www.camelotherald.com) for details on this change.

- You can no longer take a relic from a claimed keep. You must kill the keep lord to revert the keep to unclaimed status before picking up a relic.

- When a keep lord is killed you cannot claim the keep for 30 seconds.

- When a keep is claimed, for approximately 2 hours, you cannot put a relic in the keep.

- When a relic "times out" after being held for two hours it now always returns to the relic keep.

- If your guild doesn't own an outpost, you cannot pick up a relic.

- The guild commands "/gc enemyadd Enemyguildname" and "/gc enemyremove Enemyguildname" have been implemented on Mordred. They add a guild to your enemy list, and give you the text message that these players are enemies when you click on them. /gc info will display enemies.

SPELL SYSTEM NOTES

- All DOTs now have their damage based on the caster's primary casting stat. This means that high intelligence (or other prime stat) casters will significantly more DOT damage than they used.

- Increased pet-only buffs to last 20 minutes for the Cabalist, Spiritmaster, and Enchanter.

- Changed all list-caster debuffs to be instant cast, and on the same 3 second recast timer. Debuffs in this case refer to attack speed debuffs, resist debuffs and stat debuffs. This should make it much more practical to use debuffs in combat, since there won't be a damage tradeoff. Since these debuffs should be more prominent and useful, durations have generally been shortened, and area effect versions have had their power costs increased appropriately.

- Increased range on pet heals as part of the healing revision.

- Changed Warden pulsing bladeturn into a chant so Wardens can switch between their existing chants and this one in combat.

- Changed Shaman Cave spec DD spells so that they upgrade at the same time as the bolt upgrades, changed the names and levels as well.

Direct Damage
1 Fungal Mud
4 Fungal Froth
7 Fungal Muck
11 Fungal Slush
15 Fungal Slime
20 Fungal Ooze
25 Fungal Sludge
30 Fungal Ichor
35 Fungal Scum
41 Fungal Mucus

- Added point blank area effect direct damage spell to Spiritmaster Spirit Suppression list:

8 Soul Dissipation
14 Soul Dispersal
20 Soul Blast
26 Soul Explosion
32 Soul Banish
39 Soul Destruction
49 Soul Annihilation

- Added low level resurrect to Spiritmaster Spirit Enhancement list:

31 Restore Spirit

- Changed all concentration based resistance buffs to be 10 minute duration group targetted buffs. They now cost power instead of concentration points. This was done to allow buffers more leeway to provide more buffs on their party members.

- Added ground targetted area effect direct damage to Runemaster Rune spec:

19 Mark of Ruin
26 Mark of Havoc
35 Mark of Devastation
43 Mark of Undoing

- Added ground targetted area effect direct damage to Eldritch Void spec:

19 Sphere of Negation
24 Sphere of Oblivion
34 Sphere of Annihilation
43 Sphere of Unmaking

WORLD NOTES

- ALBION: The Gytrash in Albion have had their apperance changed so they look more undead.

ITEM NOTES

- The Accursed Cloak of Shadows (Albion & Midgard) can now be dyed and emblemized.

MORDRED WORLD NOTES

- The Keltoi Fogou dungeon level limit will be restricted to players under level 42. Previously the level limit was set too low for players to perfom guild quests.

- Albion: Siege Merchants have been added to Castle Sauvage, Snowdonia Fortess, and the opposing realms portal keeps.

- Midgard: Siege merchants have been added to Vindsaul Faste, Svasud Faste, and the opposing realms portal keeps.

- Hibernia: A siege merchant has set up shop in Druim Ligen and Druim Cain.

- Siege merchants have been added to both the Albion and Midgard portal keeps.

COMBAT STYLE NOTES

- The Staff combat style "Counter Evade" now has a longer movement reduction than it used to.

- The style "Niord's Fury" now chains off Frost Cut. Niord's Fury used to be a fumble based style and fumbles don't happen often enough to base a style from.

- The Friar Staff "Friend" style has its fatigue cost lowered. Its stun effect has been changed to a movement effect.

Don't be so pessimistic! I post a message giveing shaman like myself hope and you have to go and piss on my chips :D

I'd hate it it there was nothing to look forward too sure. As it stands, my damage will go up in the patch next week (1.48). After that, I hope that they would roll out a few patches together again, so maybe patches 49-51 together hopefully.

Be happy mate as you will see more ressers in your realm!

nice to see spiritmasters getting something decent.

what does that low lvl reserrect mean though?

All shaman also loose the permanent resist-buffs.. They're moved to a 10min lasting cast spell. That sucks. :p

The low lvl resurrect means a res with a few hit points left. The higher lvl ressurrects give more hit points.

I have nothing to look forward to in ANY patch that is specific to my class, ie a balancing change, new skill.

Mythic believe thanes are so complete and balanced, and whilst casters get tons of new spell lines and tweaks, thanes have not got a single thing to their class changed that is unique, in essence I have nothing unique for my class to look forward to, but now I have come to expect it, Mythic hates thanes :(

I don't mind it too much, though it's a pain recasting so I'd prefer 15 mins. The good side of this is that it affects buff-bots...rightly so IMHO :)

Did I read somewhere that these resists are group buffs now?

so spritmasters can rez now?

when is that patch due here ?

yup Sm gettign rez and Insta debuffs and Insta PB DD's is great, means we can take em instead of a healer, means a lot of would be Healers may actually roll a SM as a damage dealing seer class, or more accuratly, a healing/rezzing/debuffing Nuker :)

May well roll an SM if i am around to benefit the fruits of this patch

Yeah but thanes are not gimped

What's missing for thanes in your opinion?

You do have DF to look forward to, and realm abilities too.

well what do you know

good job on the pbae for sm's .. If it has the same damage values as the eldritch/enchanter ones we finally can try pbae groups in mid as well.

Nice work on the shammie loving as well. Gives the poor sods something to look forward too :)

They're finally getting it, albion being the most finished realm that is

NOW WHERE'S THE REST OF THE LOVE FOR LIGHT TANKS! :flame:

if you colectively add up the loving givemnt to each class since 1.36, they have accumulated enuff skills/spells/fixes/changes to offset the "Uber Thanes" of the early days.

Go read our Thane Report on VN by Sheena and you will see we have many issues, some of them class defining.

gimped ?? no, but then nor are SM gimped, nor have they been for quite some time on US.

We have things that need fixing too, dont assume we r complete and perfect 9tho i aint far off :))

I hear you mate, but you can't complain if a class is no longer "uber"...there should be NO uber classes.

I've read the report and I sympathise. My main mid alt is a thane so it affects me too. For example I know they recommend more hitpoints.

Sure they are not gimped, but quote me if I said they are perfect. I know I didn't say they were perfect or finished...all I said was that they are not gimped, unlike shammies, SMs, zerkers, etc.

Yes you do I agree; however, I suggest you don't assume that my opinion is that the class is perfect :)

From what I read, resist buffs will no longer require conc. to uphold, thus enabling one shaman/cleric/druid to provide as many buffs as their pwoer will allow. 10 min duration might not seem like much, but seeing how this will leave room for stat buffs, I'm happy ;)

Also look at the amount of stuff in the recent shaman TL report compared to the thane TL report. That shows you how much work was needed on shammies relative to thanes.

The point of this thread was to get excited about the boosts to my shaman and other mid classes. Let's not get off topic.

I'm pleased for SMs too. I hope they put the res in the baseline though.

I hope they address thanes soon too.

I'm just delighted and suprised that midgard is getting some attention after all the loving the tincans have had.

lol I am saying SM aint gimped as of 1.50

I always relate the latest patch to the one gone in before.

as of 1.50 SM were not gimp imo

Currently in 1.45 they kinda suck for Rvr, tho they have that super PB AoE mezz that has no timer, thats one of the most powerful moves in the game, shame it gets u no rp :D

M

~Mobius~

yeah but i panic in RvR :p

and it doesnt seem to work to well on purple cons and it aint much Vs range casters and archers :(

About the spiritmaster rez, you have to spec to 31 in the most useless line for RvR to get it, Summoning. I for one will definitly not spec that far with my alt SM, darkness is the way to go... :)
