The AoE Mez is a ridicilously low radius making it only sceptically better than the single target mez. Especially when you weigh things like, 3 second cast time while standing still, power cost, shorter duration.

The original version of the AoE Mez was a bit silly, but it took no more than 24 hours for whiners to get it nerfed to the near useless stage it's in now.

Since I assume you haven't played Minstrel by the way you just shout nerf carelessly, let me inform you power cost is a very realistic things for a Minstrel. 30 seconds combat is all it takes for a Minstrel to be OOP.

heh, yes i played a minstrel in the beta

but i doubt u have played a skald since then u should know that _that_'s exactly the same for a skald, 30sec combat, oom (unless we got mana regen buff)

and btw, a good minstrel doesnt need aoe mez, this just makes the good minstrels even more uber as they will know how to use it properly and gonna gain ALOT from it

how many times do u think it has happened that a minstrel is mezzing a dewdy tr00l coming towards him, then another troll comes 1m behind him and owns the minstrel?, now he can just mez both at once

The difference is the power issue is Skald doesn't rely equally on the DDs for damage dealing. Nor was my power comment one that compared Skald and Minstrel power, just telling you that a powercosting low radius low duration 3 second standing still to cast mez won't be used by many Minstrels. I'm glad you're beginning to come to the conclusion you too that a good Minstrel won't be using this Mez much at all.

As for 2 trolls running near each other, unless the minstrel has backup I wouldn't be casting a 17 second mez on them at all I'd be legging it from start. Then again 2 trolls, I'd without a doubt be insta-mezzed before I'm through half the cast time of my l33t 3 second mez if I tried that.

hehe....well, afaik, minstrel can start the mez from stealth, sure, they get unstealthed the second they start playing the flute, but at least it gives the minstrel a leadstart (suprise "attack" etc)

so, he can just wait (stealthed) till the 2 trolls has ran by, then mezz em both, take out 1, and either run, or fight the 2nd if the minstrel has enough health/mana/end

yeye, seems we will never agree on this but i dont see how u can say this is crap when they actually get a new ability that can help them out alot if used properly

oh well not like we're gonna see patch 1.51 here in a good while so...

Sorry if I gave you the impression I thought it was crap, more abilities is never negative. However this is one of those abilities that will jump up and hit minstrels in the rear whenever their balance is debated, having AoE mez is a very powerful argument, while it in effect won't have THAT much effect on a Minstrels playing abilities.

In the example of 2 trolls, what con are they? A Minstrel does not finish a blue con troll fast enough before the second breaks mez. I still see no reason why insta-stunning #1, mezzing #2 isn't better? As it conserves more power, is faster to perform and that mez lasts longer.

Seeing as how this ability was insta-nerfed I don't think people need to worry that even if the patch gets here, it won't make your life so sour.

Oh yes along with their 5 other baseline spells the Theurgist and Wizard are really reknown for their massive utility and group benefit.

Don't be daft, it's a damage buff. You get it from Skalds, we get it from Paladins. Noone specs high for a single target damage buff as the group-effect versions are equally strong and more effective power wise to use.

I could start a rant about how a properly specced Runemaster combines the best of BOTH an Albion Wizard and Theurgist, and if you weren't so stubborn you'd be scared at how close the RM can match 2 classes of Albion in one.

If this gets left in, in any way shape or form, it will aid us very little and completely destroy any chances of minstrels ever being allowed to be rogues again.
I want lvl 5 shadowblade with R1L8 to NOT be able to see my stealthed lvl 44 minstrel at max view range. I do not want to be able to mezz for 15secs(15 + flute duration bonus admittedly) a pair of trolls, assuming they're sitting on top of each other.

You got to remember that we will have realm abilities soon and if you hate mes that much, get purge. Also i think its the next patch that Spirit Resist works against mes, so get that to 26% and the mes duration is shortened by a 1/4. Then also stack up on Body Resist and Minstrels DD's wont hurt you as much

That's just off the top of my head.

As of now, the only support class I have not played, has been the Paladin, and I intend to change that soon. So I am QUITE aware of what the Cleric has to offer compared to the others. In addition, the superiority of a Clerics BASELINE heals is immediately obvious to anybody that has played other Realms support classes.

But it doesn't end there does it? Albion as a whole, gets off to a much better start than even Midgard. Drop availability is even better than Midgard, and Mithra is far superior to even Nisses. I have been to both at lvl 6, and it was worth going to both. In Nisses, I was getting orange con equipment. In Mithra, I was getting purple con drops. I was also getting purple and orange weapon drops at level 2 in Albion. XP and the drops, in Albion were far better than Midgard. Levelling at low levels, is far better in Albion than Midgard.

What does Hibernia get? Muire Tomb and useless and rare drops.

Try playing Hibernia sometime Tiger, you may just have a shock at how badly a Realm can be treated in comparison to Albion. Once you have that adjustment, you may even be able to go to Midgard and be honest about even them having disadvantages compared to Albion and its classes.

wizards get lots of damage.

runemasters get runspeed, pbt, and major damage.
