They've moved the Settings folder into:
...\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings
I went looking to see if it had undone my view distance change to 150 (file is read only), and wondered where the fuck they'd gone.
First thought was "&*^*% they've deleted my profile!" (yeah my bad for not backing up before patching, but...), then I had a look around and found the above.
Maybe this post will stop someone else having such a heart attack
